Learning to Love My Hair and Why You Should Too! | Love on You Ep. 2
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Hi guys! Welcome back to my channel! I partnered up with CeraVe to create a special 4 part mini series called Love On You that not only normalizes romancing yourself, but celebrates it! In this episode my girls Tookie and Naya came through and did their thing by braiding my hair DOWN. We got real talking about black hair and why black women need to start celebrating our curls. If you want to hear about my experience in learning to love my hair and why you should start loving yours, then this is definitely the video for you! Let me know your thoughts and personal experiences in the comments! Thank you guys for watching this special video and thank you to CeraVe for sponsoring!

Love the braids on you Jackie 🥰🥰🥰
They slayed the shit out of them braids!! It is def an art form. I feel that every black girl should be able to braid even if it’s not as intricate and professional as these two ladies. Thank you for celebrating and showcasing the process and featuring someone you trust with your lovely delicate strands

I respect those who know how to braid but i never learned how 🤷🏽♀️
As a white girl, I'm amazed by how much skill and talent this takes. Thank you for sharing something so personal. Not only does it help the folks who know, it also helps those of us who don't
You don’t understand how much I love your KZread channel!! it’s so great to see representation, especially when it comes to loving our natural hair and learning how to care for it

Thank you 🤎🫶🏾
Also sweet Jackie, keep in mind that braids are aristocratic for Nigerian women. No daughter or wife of a chief or landowner or king would be seen with loose hair. Hair was always braided and historically with real gold or jewel beads. Hair was always braided with love literally braided by a loved one, a sister or aunty who loved you and your hair. I feel best wearing braids or my natural hair but each to their own. Jackie love you for this
I love this so much, it's really showing us our everyday experiences of being a black woman in a beautiful, non-traumatizing way! This aligns sooooo much with your brand Jackie, I cannot wait to watch the next episode!

bless all the braiders out there! y'all the keepers of this ancient art form 🙌🏾; millenials old, yet, still very relevant and beautiful 😍.
I’ve never seen hair braiding look so peaceful 😭😭 if I didn’t have locs, this would be the ideal setup!! ❤❤
Yaasss Jackie you always promote ✨Black Girl Magic✨….I’ve been a subscriber for years but you made my day featuring my very own family members. Gainesville, Fl natives Tookie and Nya showing what “craft perfection”and “hustle “ will do!!!👏🏾👏🏾💪🏾👏🏾👑👏🏾🥰😘Bravo Ladies

Oh wow!! Love this fact!
Getting braids is literally so relaxing one of my favorite protective style.
Getting braids is a special occasion in itself 🤍
Hey Jackie! Love the conversation on this topic! I remember my in-laws telling me one time that braids are “ghetto” and don’t wear it to this one event I attended. 😒🤦🏾♀️ that’s a whole different topic Chile! 🙄😆 love that you show how being black is beautiful. And thanks for sharing her link because Finding Braiders outside of the valley is a challenge sometimes 😩 I’m definitely going to check her out! 🥰

Hope you wore the braids to that event.😂
I’ve had Locs for almost 2 years and I love it. I do miss my lacefronts sometimes but there’s so much freedom in not having to spend as much time on my hair. I spend about 6 hours to do my locs out of the MONTH (unless I’m styling my hair ) instead of 2 hours every couple days just laying lace and then worrying about if it’s lifting- not to mention the MONEY. But I still love looking at girls rock their Cambodian body wave 🙏🏽
When I was little my next door neighbor would frequently come over to my house and she would always have her hair braided with the beads. I loved seeing all her different styles that she would do with her hair and various protective styles. I was always lowkey jealous because I am whiter than a piece of paper and I wanted beads too 😂 obviously that would break all my hair off and be inappropriate to do but I still love seeing braids and twists. It’s one of the prettiest hairstyles in my opinion 🥰 thanks for showing the process of how these looks are created! Tookie and Naya are so talented

Such a sweet message and totally understand what you mean but having beads in your hair wouldn't be inappropriate at all. Its just that when non blacks replicate looks that blacks have been ridiculed, oppressed and chastised for having and also not acknowledging the people who popularised it, that's where the issue is. I would braid my white friends hair growing up because she spent so much time around my family but it was fun for both of us and she was always so keen to learn about our culture. 😊😊

@@kunmbi12 I totally understand that! That’s one of the things that will piss me off the fastest is seeing someone like me having their hair in protective styles 🥴
Those are stunning!! I loved the moment when braids went from a summer style to an all year anytime style. Braids are one of the most beautiful yet simple styles to get and I will forever love them.

I did curly knotless braids for my birthday this year.. I got so many compliments and I did so many styles. I've always been a braid girl and it's great now that they have so many videos on how to style them.
Come through with the hair content! Braids are always so FIRE on you! 🔥❤️
I always said, if I ever get married and have a wedding, I want some braids. Rarely see brides get married in braids. I love braids. Just did a 6 hour session, and I feel so pretty 😍
Am loving every bit of this, Jackie came back hard, and oh, Jackie works harder, two channels combined with other platforms. ❤️❤️ a Queen

Love this❤. Recently I’ve came to this conclusion of loving on my natural hair because it’s beautiful and I shouldn’t be ashamed to wear it out or in braids
This series is so fun to watch. You bring great entertainment as well as insight into feelings of insecurities some women are ashamed to speak on. Plus your hair is fire. Praises to those talented ladies.
Needed this. My 4c hair sure needs some patience and loving
I can’t express how much I love this video - the quality- but making the act of getting braids a luxury special moment - just obsessed with your latest content Ps don’t ever leave us again ❤lol
I appreciate the narrative. Once I found 5 solid styles that I love, I never been happier. Options is key to loving your natural hair IMO
Finally a stylist that knows how to braid black hair with it being pressed or straight. 🤎 Brown girl love.
I absolutely agree, you can definitely wear braids for formal or special events. I had knotless braids for my wedding, and loved it! I’m doing my hair right now watching your videos, and it’s a daily challenge trying to reprocess how I view my natural hair. Thanks for the inspiring video. 🖤

Won’t be able to finish this video right now as I’m at work lol but I love this already! I’ve been finally starting to really like and appreciate my coily hair at the age of 25. I was actually going to get it loc’d (I still plan on this) before the end of the year but once I finally started weekly washing, lowering my wash day time & using a mousse product for a wash n go.… I’m actually really starting to love it. I want more time to appreciate and take really good care of my hair before I get locs. Love this video and your TikTok’s on our beautiful hair Jackie ❤
Their tuck game is great! All one color, so beautiful

I remember hating my hair from the time I was a child up until after high school. Always wishing it was straight and causing so much damage. Had to really go down a healing journey physically, mentally, spiritually. Took a year but now my coils are thriving 🥹💜
Lovely! Glad you came back. You were missed. I love perfumes and I know you do too. Do a video of your favorite perfumes, that would be cute.
