Learning How to Craft a Hermes-like Luxury Bag in Europe’s Most Expensive City

Ойын-сауық

Join me on an extraordinary journey where I delve into the world of luxury leather crafting. Over the past year and a half, I've embarked on a unique hobby of destroying luxury leather bags, with a total cost exceeding $50,000. Needless to say, my wife wasn't initially thrilled about my peculiar pastime, as you'll see from her hilarious reactions throughout this adventure.
But amidst the chaos of bag destruction, I made a promise to create something truly exceptional for her. This led me to a serendipitous encounter with master craftsman Peter Nitz, renowned for his bespoke leather bags. Determined to fulfill my promise, I seized the opportunity to become his final student, embarking on a week-long intensive course in Zurich, the heart of European luxury.
Under Peter's guidance, I delved into the intricacies of leather crafting, pushing my skills to new heights. From selecting the finest crocodile skins to mastering the art of saddle stitching and edge painting, each day presented new challenges and triumphs. Despite moments of doubt and fatigue, Peter's expertise and patience propelled me forward, culminating in the creation of a breathtaking masterpiece.
As I reflect on my journey, I'm filled with gratitude for the invaluable lessons learned and the friendships forged along the way. Join me as we embark on this journey of creativity, craftsmanship, and Leathertainment.

I've started my leather artisan Journey 2 years ago.. I saw someone selling bags on Twitter and I reached out to him and he told me his was mass produced.. So I thought what if I can make my bags my self.. and that was the start of it. And like the gentleman in the video I do everything by hand no machines. I'm a very Impatient person but with making my totes I know I have to have patience.. it makes me slow down and think and really observe what I'm doing.. it's almost like a zen moment for me.. Especially sewing by hand it hurts my hands some time but its soo relaxing ...I'm so glad I found leather working

At this point you probably can make your wife the best bag at her liking… with the best quality and best leather. So I get that she’s not buying these overpriced and overrated bags … People should start visiting local artesian in Europe or other countries vs just the obvious luxury bag… During my 20’s I am glad I was able to visit the local artesian and purchased leather bags from their stores. Thanks it’s a beautiful bag❤

It will be interesting to see if Mr. Peter’s next endeavors implement die-cutting the leathers but keeping most of the hand-stitching. This could potentially increase his quality (consistency) and throughput while staying true to the bespoke craft.
