That’s awesome riding with Graham Jarvis Back in 2008 I did a riding school in Vermont with Shane Watts, Even though I had years of riding and racing before the school it was still great to pick up pointers from a pro. As far as the Husky goes I agree I have a 22 FE501S With heavier springs and ergonomically enhancements the bike is absolutely perfect It’s good to see your subscription rate is increasing every week great channel!

@@OFFroadOFFcourse No the 501S would be great for this I have heavier springs full nobby’s the claimed weight is 248 pounds dry so it would be no problem I used to race New England Enduro’s on an XR600 Even for an old guy like me I can still handle this bike. After years of owning different brands Husqvarna finally got it right I originally had a twin pipe 92 Husqvarna 350 Enduro I consider the Husqvarna FE501S one of the best all around bikes I’ve ever owned.

Nice video and the husky is a treat. I began off-road on 1970 by trial with a Bultaco Sherpa, and I learned, more or less surely less than more, low speed maneuvers, how to lighten the front wheel, to use the compression and push of the suspensions for passing obstacles and moving laterally the bike to get the good track. One fact is sure; weight is the enemy. Other fact, a very elastic engine with immediate answer to the throttle is a necessity. That explains why my preferred bike was a Honda XR 400, kited 440 tuned for elasticity, and designed for comfort like a factory MZ 350 for the ISDT 6 days in the seventies. The mule trails in the middle of the Atlas or Pyrenean mountains were pure joy when the friends on the 600 cc were spitting the lungs because of the steps. The problem of most nowadays so-called adventure bikes is these bikes are the intellectual "descendants" of the Dakar race bikes made for the desert on open spaces and sand where lots of ponies are essential and weight is not primordial. That is not the playground of most of us, at least the Europeans, who need lightness and agility on rocks, mud, slow trails and a decent mean speed on road. We do not need 180 kmh on the sands of the Sahara. I think that a modern 450 cc like 35-40 HP, a very elastic and easy engine, 250-280 mm suspensions rather soft with good hydraulics, 125 kg max dry would be the perfect bike for most of us. 120 kmh cruising on road is largely enough, low weight off-road is the nec plus ultra for a confident ride as there is no fear when the terrain becomes a bit difficult. Furthermore, you do not get tired on such a bike. That could be made, the DR 350, DRZ 400 and XR 400 were pretty close.

I agree 100% with what you are saying. Its about time a fuel injected XR400/DRZ400 comes around... thats why I am very negative towards the KTM 390Adv ... it had the potential to be that...a modern affordable and REAL dual-sport... but nah, its a pseudo-adv bike with 17/17cm suspension and 19". Would someone please take us seriously once in a while please? :P

@@OFFroadOFFcourse 99% of the ADV bikes sold today are jokes, merely road bikes disguised. The KTM is a KTM, I mean expensive and not so reliable. The RE Himalayan makes me laugh, a 1972 Honda XLS was better except the brakes. The Japanese have forgotten us, although there is a market, the indecent prices of the used dual sport bikes of the nineties are the proof, the 20 years old DRZ are at 4000 and more. The answer maybe will come from the Chinese able to fill any niche market. An example of a possible dual sport, unhappily it's not compliant with the UE rules (carburetor) so homologation impossible for the while, and needs some modifications by the factory to become a true real dual sport bike but it's pretty close to my ideal. It’s a leisure enduro bike imported in France by TRC, a company owned by the Charbonnier, the father was an enduro champion. 5690 € (!!!) all taxes included brand new at retail, one-year warranty. 114 kg (so 125 kg are attainable for a dual without difficulty), 46 HP (so 40+ HP after homologation), steel frame (no need of aluminium), no useless electronics, modern adjustable suspensions. A complete new engine Zongchen NC 450 costs less than 1500€ at retail. Brief, a good starting base for a factory. bhr-moto.com/450-r/

@@OFFroadOFFcourse The Chinese are perfectly able to make good bikes. It's not rocket science, bur rather simple engineering compared to space satellites, planes, high speed trains and ship building, industries where the Chinese have shown their capabilities. Zongchen makes millions of engines, and maybe a million bikes and scooters each year. Loncin has made (F650) and makes bikes (twin 800 cc) for BMW.

Once you get into 'hard enduro' and trials type of riding you will notice it all moves directly to your capability to handle adventure bike in rough terrain too. A compreensão da suspensão deve ser feita +- a uma distância igual à altura do obstáculo. Estes exercícios podem ser treinados em sessões de 30 a 60 min, é um ginásio excelente e ajudam muito a melhorar a técnica

Seeing and trying new techniques is a good thing but thinking it is the only or even the best way is not good IMO. You can say 'Jarvis does it this way' but saying 'The only way to do it is the Jarvis way' is foolish. Try those ways but find your own way. That is learning IMO. Your skill set and your bike are different and so your ways of overcoming obstacles should suit you.

At least for my particular case, i am 100% sure my technique is not even close to be good, so i might as well try to learn/copy. Crossing the obstacle is easy and i can do it, but I KNOW i dont do it in control
