Another tip, lock your ankle and make sure that when you hit the ball, your shooting leg is fully extended, also you want the ball to be in line with your planting foot when you strike it. Make sure to practise a lot. It won't happen overnight.

yeah some kid on my team acts like hes the best but he is a ball hog that cant dribble so no one passes to him and he shoots from way out and shanks it not even close to goal

I was at my local pitch and I couldn't get any good shots but then I started using this technique and it worked thank you so much

I feel like it'd be better to learn with the top of your foot first and then transfer to different angles and whatnot. I never knew using the top of my foot was more powerful until my 3rd or 4th year. it was super hard for me to get out of the habit of kicking with the inside of my foot, even when I'd try using the top I would habitually switch last second to the inside and mess it up. anyway everything about this video is fine but anyone who's seeing this, just keep in mind that kicking different ways based on the situation is important if you want maximum outcome. practice hard and never give up 👍

@@allegrifan4933 Because of the power and the area you're kicking it'll fly up. Usually it's good if you need it to go really far but if you don't want it to go in the air you can still use the top of your foot but pay attention to the area you're kicking on the ball. Obviously if you kick it towards the bottom it'll go up because your foot is moving in an upward swing very hard and very fast, so maybe kick it in the middle and try not to scoop it too much with your foot. Honestly it just means you have a strong kick so that's not bad. Plus I'm sure it's easier to start off really strong and tone it down the more you practice control and whatnot.

@@egg2468 if it's too low you either need to work on your kicking strength, or practice scooping the ball (like when you scoop it up in the air to juggle except without rolling it back onto your foot) and eventually forming that scoop into a kick so you can kick it in the air. In no way am I a professional or a teacher however so if you can I'd say ask your coach or someone who can give somewhat better advice than me. Also, if you can't do those or you want to do something else in between those, you can always just look up videos to see not only what the problem is but how to fix it. Practice makes perfect my friend 👍
