Learn to Read Korean in 5 Minutes (seriously)

I now do a lot of NFT stuff: / punk9059
The Korean alphabet is surprisingly easy to learn. I can't speak a word but can read most symbols. This video will teach you 90% of what you need to know.

I’m bilingual in both English and Korean, and I have to approve that this dude is a genius. He explains every important feature in Korean letters in a way easier way to memorize for English speakers. The examples attached on the each letter have no correlation to the origins or the meaning but they facilitate associations to the pronunciations of the letters.

Ten years ago, I stumbled upon this video shortly after I decided to shift from learning Japanese to Korean. Now, a decade later, I find myself living in Korea, sharing my life with a Korean partner, and working as a full-time TV/media translator. It's a delightful surprise to see this video resurface on my KZread homepage today.

As someone learning Korean, when I saw the title I thought it would be a scam but I must say it's real, this does teach you Hangeul, althought this is not all the Korean, he didn't mention the tense consonants (kk, tt, jj, pp, ss) some aspirated consonants (k, t, ch) and the double vowels (wa, wo, wae, we, oe, wi, ui) but this is a really good start!, I hope everyone that wants to learn Korean sees this video so they have a solid base.

Awesome video. Just to add to Sam's excellent teaching - 'ㄱ' (which sounds as G (as gun) as it looks like one) is also the position of your tongue when you pronounce it in Korean. 'ㄴ' (which sounds as N (as nose)) is also the position of tongue when pronounced. History implies the Korean language was developed from a group of people and a king (Sejong, 세종) - around approx 650 years ago. Obviously one needs to practice - but it's relatively easy to learn at the beginning.

Due to watching korean movies back in middle school, they had the korean subs alongside eng ones which made me always glance at kor subs while listening to the actors speaking I subconsciously learned how how to pronounce and read in korean but I still don't know much vocabulary nor how to engage in learning korean while having a busy life while already struggling as a trilingual who's not fluent in either of the three languages (lmao), hope to learn it properly any time soon!
