The House of The Rising Sun was the second song I learned back in 1970. Little did I know that I played it wrong, just as everyone else did, for decades. 🥺 The first song I learned was Puff the Magic Dragon, the Peter Paul & Mary version.
Hi Angela, loved it
Outstanding lesson , nice , controlled , easy to follow …..very impressive. Thank you .
This is awesome right here. The House Of The Rising Sun was one of the first songs that my dad taught me on the guitar. Angela, your guitar lessons are awesome as well as above and beyond. They are also on point and off the charts. Please keep it up with your guitar lessons.

Thanks.
Thank you Angela. Love your lessons Thanks from NY
Love that whole guitar!
Hi Angela - heard your band playing in the background while watching @NormansRareGuitars flattop Friday episode yesterday evening. Can’t wait for your new EP to come out in May and looking for a single to drop even sooner!! Hope to hear you & The Players on a Norms video very soon too! (Tonight or next week??) Congratulations!! And btw thanks for the great lesson!
Hi Angela. I am no expert but almost everybody plays or teaches this song wrong. On the Am, C and E chords you do not rake the high E string coming down, you stop at the B but the part everyone gets wrong and I did too for many years is that when you pick the strings on the way up you always lift your finger to play the G string open! It feels weird and at first it may sound weird but that is how the Animals did it and I am 100 percent sure of this.
Unfortunately I'm generally busy doing something while you're having your live stream. I greatly appreciate all the lessons you do. Thank you, From Charlie in Georgia USA.
esa canción siempre ha ido junto a mí, te agradezco mucho todo lo que haces, un abrazo

Hello Amanda. First song I learned to play? Wild Horses by the Rolling Stones. Watching from Blytheville Arkansas. ❤
one of the first songs I ever learned
Does anyone actually know who wrote this song? The Animals version is probably the most popular but the song itself was around long before the Animals.
Canada and house of the rising sun 😊
Question,, when you fingered the F chord you said pick the D string the. Strum, but can you also have picked the A string since there is an A note in the F chord.
If you can learn this song...you can also play Taneytown by Steve Earle. Same chord order and same key
First song: 25 or 6 to 4, when it was first popular. 😂. Unfortunately I stopped practicing for some decades after that.

My mom said I started with 6 y/o but I belive I was 7. So about one or two hundred years ago I was sitting by the kitchen table learning notes from a sheet. My first song in that book was called Andante, played on a nylon. Later on when I got my first acoustic this song was one of the first. It was and still is a great beginner song.
I remember my cousin showing me how to play Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd
Ok hate to bring up a sad subject. I am all but sure that Jenny could have totally bang that vocal out.
