Many years ago I was lucky enough to be in a large @Donna Dewberry training class. At the time I had never held a paintbrush in my hand. I was there with many advanced painters. Many of them were instructors who were training to bring this new approach of painting to their clients. Yes, I was way over my head, but I am so happy I went. It gave me so much confidence. I haven’t been painting in some years now. I have just slowed down with work and now that I am almost retired I want to sit down and start painting more. I still love to watch Donna paint. Just the sound of her calm voice painting is awesome. Thank you, Donna for all you do bring to the World of Painting and the people who are your fans.

Beautiful fluffy flowers with the hint of pink is awesome. It was great to see how you added petals to the back positioned to contour the flower...I would never have considered that without you showing! And the leaves....my new best leaves because I can actually paint these....I think😊. Will have to paint this later today...thanks Donna!

Just WOW !!! What beautiful flowers these are !!! I can see them in SO MANY different colors. I can also see a lotus flower being painted this way. But, I hope I can apply this technique to painting Morning Glory flowers. (Do you by chance have a tutorial on those flowers - they are my absolute favorite flower.) TY for sharing this video with us. UPDATE: I just found your tutorial on painting Morning Glories - so glad you have it. TY for that also. 😻

Donna, I know you say that the medium you add is " the fluff" but honestly I don't understand. So what is it? A thinner? A binder? An alcohol? Fluff does not help me understand what it is or what it actually does...I understand it makes the paint " wetter" but how is it different than water. Thanks for helping, im just very confused on this ( and if I'm being honest, a little frustrated not understanding it). Maybe because I don't know the actual composite of paint...is it just clear paint? The word " fluff" does not help me. Not being mean...just trying to understand.

Floating Medium is what One Stroke painters use instead of water, we don't thin our paint with water like other art methods do, with a few exceptions. Without getting into the chemistry of how and from what it's made, the description I used is what the manufacturer has told me to say to help others understand. So sorry if it's caused you more confusion instead of clarification. We add Floating Medium to the brush loaded with paint to make the paint flow easier on rough or dry surfaces or to thin the paint when we want a transparent stroke shade. Hope this helps.

@@DonnaSDewberry yes that does help. However another content creator explained that water would allow 2 colors of paint that are next to each other on a canvas to possibly blend and become muddy, but the medium, thins the paint while also creating a barrier from that happening. I had a light bulb moment at that point. Now I "get it". Thank you for reading my message and most importantly, following up! Awesome.

The multi-surface acrylic paint by Plaid FolkArt doesn't work this way. It has a built in sealer so water cannot reactivate it. The creator that explained it likely was referring to a different medium and/or acrylic paint brand. Floating Medium by Plaid FolkArt is used to float color and thin paint to a transparent shade. plaidonline.com/products/folkart-mediums-floating-medium-2-oz-868
