Learn to make handmade cording to elevate your finishing. Cheaper than store bought cords and more polished look than store bought - you can make easily to match your needlework pieces perfectly! Just follow my easy to understand steps and you will be well on your way to making cording for all your projects!

Kreinik Cording Drill
Masking Tape
Embroidery Floss - use as it comes out of the skein or off the cone - all 6 stands

    This one I shared because of very long lengths and for cord with 3+ colors. Makes it much easier. I only use this way for those two reasons.

    Have been using your other method for several years with good success. Now prefer this method! Much easier to keep the cording tight. The clamp is key! Thank you, Vonna! 😍

    THANK YOU SO MUCH! Yes, I'm shouting! I always thought I had to go buy cording for those pretty edges. That limits you to their colors and is so expensive! I've ordered my Kreinik Cording Drill and can't wait to make my own! You. Are. The. Best.

    Hi Vonna, Thank you so much for this tutorial. I just made my first two-color cord using a cup hook with my electric drill and your technique. I didn't want to invest in a special cording drill so tried the electric drill first. Mine has several speeds. I love how it came out and the dollar savings from buying twisted cord by the yard. Two skeins of DMC @ .65 cents each compared to $6.00 a yard at Jo-Ann's. Just want you to know how much I enjoy everyone of your videos and articles in Primitive Stitching. Thank you.
