Learn to Inline Skate: Crossovers Tutorial
Спорт
Crossovers are a very important skill to learn in inline skating, and one of the first skills beginners should be learning after having learned to skate forward in a straight line.
Crossovers are a great way to take a wider turn while generating speed, and also great for picking up speed in a straight line.
In this video I show you how to learn the crossover step by step: we start standing still, then take our first mini-steps while rolling, progress to doing continuous crossovers in a circle, and then finish off with linear crossovers to build up speed while skating forward!
Enjoy the video and have fun practicing!

Thak you for the tutorial. Despite skating for a some years now I never got to do crossovers. I am still trying to perfect them but your tutorial has been the best for me to land the basic skill. The static crossing over at the begging was perfect to make me remember my cebter of gravity

This sounds silly but i never knew i can also learn crossover on rollerskates. Thank you!

@@MarcelsHockeySchool Hey Marcel, I tried the tips from this video. They were tremendously helpful. The tip about the upper torso tilt thing was quite profound as my crossovers look a lot better and feel much easier to execute. Would you say the same idea of leaning away (with your upper body) from the direction of the turn applies to skating backwards?

39 years old, just got my first pair of new skates since Bill Clinton was in office. Been to the rink two times with my kids and the rental quads weren't doing it for me. I'm having trouble with the right turn crossing my left leg over. Gonna be doing these drills tomorrow after work. I also didn't order a brake with my skates so I'll be doing that, I can not stop for shit🤣🤣🤣 Great video series. Thanks

Thanks! Usually because of your momentum you don’t really need to worry about stepping in front of far enough - that happens on its own. So just make sure you’re lifting high enough to cross the skate over.
