Immersion…..Yes, I totally agree that it’s very helpful and enjoyable when Ana explains the lesson or major parts of it in Spanish. Most of us have been following her enough to now desire to hear her…”mostly in Spanish.” She already does a very good job in her explanations.

I'm Irish. I can read Spanish at either higher intermediate, or lower advanced levels (depending on the circumstances). My ability to understand spoken Spanish is limited. It is not just the sheer speed at which Spanish is spoken. I also find that most Spanish speakers allow their voices/articulation to vary, making some words/phrases they say too quiet, to trail off or become truncated. I'll keep trying to improve at aural comprehension, but I honestly feel discouraged the majority of the time. Basically, a fluent Spanish speaker needs to think of a person from another country who is learning Spanish as a child. We speak clearly and more slowly to children.

Do not be discouraged. Work on building your Spanish vocabulary. You will catch more and more Spanish. Learning a language requieres a lot of hammering. It takes time, work, perseverance and a positive attitude. Saludos :)

I need this so much. I can read and write Spanish but I struggle to understand what Natives are saying because it’s so fast. 😩

I just started Spanish a month ago. Ana, thank you for bringing Spanish to life in your videos. I only found your videos a week ago and you helped renew my excitement to learn Spanish.

Awesome! As a native English speaker, we use the word 'thoughtful' a bit different. To us, it means that a person is considerate in their thoughts about another person and not themselves. As an example, when a husband gives his wife a gift of something that she needs or could use. He was considerate in thinking about what she needs instead of giving her something that wasn't useful. He was being thoughtful. That's the meaning of the expression "It's the thought that counts."
