plain , simple , informative and easy to understand , thank you , my psa was 10 , gleason 9 , 12 needle biopsy cancer in two cores , it appears there was no noticeable spread , i had brachy , 5 weeks of external beam radiation and 24 months of adt , its been 12 months since my last treatment and psa remained at less than 0.02 but the last on came back at 0.05 , so i guess it wait and see time now until the next test bin 3 months

My PSA weny from .02 to 1.6 over the last couple of years. My original Gleason was 3+3 about 10 years ago. Now I have had a PSMA Pet scan that says I am metastatic into my lymph nodes and into my pelvis. I just finished radiation and am waiting for my Oncologist to respond. Any advice?

I'm 59. Got BPH right after a hernia operation. Had Greenlight laser therapy. Doc ran a PSA test. PSA was 7.9 but I was on Finasteride so exact unknown. Doc did an Oncotype, scored GPS 60. Signed up for a clinical study. Received 12 needle biopsy (3 cores positive, two 6s and one 7), bone scan (negative), MRI , CT scan and another MRI for simulation. NOthing has escaped the prostate. Now waiting for a Decipher score result. Expect to start radiation therapy next week. All this has taken 7 months out of my life.

I'm 71, tested last December with PSA of 22.2, no symptoms. Put on Zoladex last January for two years. Gleason score of 4+5 and T3a diagnosis. Had 37 sessions of Radiotherapy finishing end June. PSA now 0.03. Don't worry about it taking 7 months out of your life, look what the treatment might add to it. All the best for the future!

Biopsy Gleason 7 all 12 cores positive. Wants to remove, says localized. Do we have time for second opinion? My gut says all 12 cores is no time to waste

Read that the prostate is actually two glands. Is that considered when saying tumors are ( bi lateral ) ?

The prostate is one gland comprised of different zones (peripheral zone, central zone, transition zone). Bilateral prostate gland usually implies that cancer was found on both sides (right and left) of the prostate gland.

Early path of frustration! August: 1st ever PSA = 25, 1st appointment on Oct 13. Negative DRE. Nov 4 3T MRI. Nov 14, MRI results, Pirad 5! No evidence of spread. Biopsy scheduled for Jan 20. 5 months from 1st PSA. Results of biopsy won't be until February. So…. how long before treatment? March? April? All the knowledge I absorb from KZread doesn't help if I can't schedule faster than 7-8 months. Any reassuring advice? 4 Add a reply..

My biopsy are 4+3,4+4 and 4+4 right side and same at left side, what group prostate cancer belong my biopsy

Thank you for your comment. When there are multiple different Gleason scores, the HIGHEST gleason score is the one that is used primarily. In your case, Gleason 8 is the highest and therefore equates to grade group 4. Hope this helps !

I'm 64, had first PSA score of 7+, later up to 16 then down to stuck around 10 now. Biopsy and MRI reveals no cancer, but Urologist says small (normal prostate) + high PSA makes him suspicious and wants to do another biopsy. I declined and said T wanted to delay a bioposy as I had just gone along without looking into prostate cancer at all and wanted to time to see if i could. bring PSA down with dietary changes and vit d. Now down to 5.2 which is in line with results from Urology study of vit D treatment I saw presented on KZread. Speak again to Urologist in early Feb. Would you find a no cancer result and a non enlarged prostate suspicious?

Great job on reducing PSA ! Consider with your physician multiparametric MRI to see if there are abnormal lesions in the areas (transition zone) that are usually not included on random biopsy

226PSA, Cat Scan and Bone Scan complete. Results- NO Bone Mets, and no organ spread. Lymph nodes just outside prostate are swollen though. Biopsy still 1 month away, and then results of biopsy a month after that they have told us. If Lymph nodes are swollen i guess that means cancer has already spread? so with another 2-3 month wait how screwed i am? (Toronto, Canada - long wait times) How can PSA be 226 but no spread other than lymph nodes?

I would talk with the urology office and see if you can be seen sooner. With PSA of 226 and enlarged pelvic nodes, advanced prostate cancer is highly likely. Lots of treatment options are available which include optimizing overall body health and wellness.

@@theprostatecoach8058 Thanks you, we have tried but no luck. They said we would have called you in earlier if needed. We tried getting help elsewhere but they all require a biopsy to be done first and Nov 3rd was the earliest available date anywhere here. I hope it would not spread from maybe lymph nodes to bones or anywhere else from early Sep to Late Nov (3 months) because that is the wait that we are forced to stick to.

I hear you Kip Dealing with Prostate cancer can be quite frustrating. IF your biopsy confirms cancer, treatment would usually be anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months following (the timing depends on so many factors). I wish you the best.
