So two points of interest while watching this. In the last video you spoke about attacking a router (usually a home device). If I am using a virtual machine on my home internet connection, even with a VPN or proxies, there is nothing keeping a virus that I am running in the virtual machine from infecting my router (that it is remotely connected to), right? Also, isn't it a feature of viruses that they can (or cannot) jump from a VM to a host machine? I have a separate laptop with Kali installed for my learning because I am not willing to risk that, but that is just something I have heard (this still doesn't seem like it would protect me from someone accessing my Kali box and attacking my other computers on the network though, unless I am missing something. Does the 'wired' connection between a host machine and a VM provide better security than for instance directly connecting my Kali laptop to the ethernet / wifi? Should I have a VM on my Kali box (or rather make it an Ubuntu box and have a VM with Kali on That), or am I good with just using a separate box. How can I connect to the internet on my Kali box / Kali VM that isn't putting my other machines at risk when I am downloading things that could potentially allow access to my router, etc.?

I have a Mac, should I follow these steps you outlined about the package or just double-click to install virtualBox

so i have a pit of a dilemma. for this course im using a machine currently equipped with 32 bit windows 7 and a 64bit kali linux usb with live persistence. the problem is virtualbox is not supported on 32 bit systems. so i am debating either putting a 64 bit non-kali linux distro on it and reformatting the hdd in the process, using an older version of virtualbox that is supported on 32 bit systems, or just not using virtualbox

You have to install the VMbox so that whenever you are performing activity on your Kali, you can stay safe from really fucking things up

so the Kali linux i have is Debian i believe, and i tried the command 'SU' but when i get the option to input the pw it doesnt let me write it and comes back as an authentication failure. Does it mean i need to try and get the fedora one? since it doesnt let me write the PW.

Sir I am using windows 10. You are using terminal to install VB or check compatibility of system. The Problem is, that I have typed the command in my Command Prompt, But doesn't recognize the command. Like I type "uname -a" in my Command Prompt but It is not working. Am I making mistake somewhere?

installing virtualbox on windows is pretty easy directly download the .exe from Google and install it in your computer.. no need of using command prompt

Joseph Delgadillo My friend this question is in no way related to this but I’m taking what I believe is your latest ethical hacking course on Udemy for 2020 and I’ve ran into something hindering me from doing certain commands . This is gonna sound very stupid but when I type an asterisk in my Kai Linux terminal , the asterisk is on the same level as the normal letters instead the normal position In which it is in the same level as an apostrophe or speech marks. Now , I have tried to see if it maybe it is the keyboard settings in kali and so I opened up settings and I typed into the test box in which you test fonts and so forth but it seems perfectly normal there . So I , having no knowledge of programming languages and so forth , am asking , do you have any speculation as to what is going on ? Thank you .

He said: after rpm -i /home/username... the process is then automated" Meaning you do not have to do anything. If the VirtualBo is then not installed run /sbin/vboxconfig or see your system documentation on how to install it... *If you give up here, you are not worthy to the task.*
