I have no idea why but after the usage of crontab command from the last lesson the internet stops working on my kali. At first i thought it was just my idea but I tested removing the "@reboot macchanger -r eth0" in crontabs and after restarting the system i had internet again.... edit:it seems whenever i change my mac address (even on the fly with the "macchanger -r eth0" command, my internet stops working

i have same problem, i have to reinstall kali, after research , mac changer only use for LAN only, no need spoof mac for web, so delete crontab, use only when you penetrating or scanning LAN, correct me if im wrong

so whats the purpose of installing virtual machine and changing mac adddress if we are unable to access internet (watching tutuorials to learn penetration)

And actually I did combined footprinting with anonymity but I am not sure about how much I am anonymous and would love to know how to check the level of anonymity... THANKS...

You may have to change your MAC address back to the original one. Keep in mind that to change your MAC address or really any settings of an interface you must bring it down first. Try this: ifconfig [network device] down macchanger -p [network device] ifconfig [network device] up Replacing [network device] with the name of the interface. The -p flag will reset your MAC to the original, permanent MAC address (you can also view this with macchanger -s).

SCOUT I bought it and found the solution. It is said: if you are using Virtual machine macchanger doesn’t work on it. In order to use it you have to use Kali as a host machine.

its a file he said to change for vpn, he turned false to true or true to false, return it to original i cant remember
