The slow mo spin catch he did n the beginning wasn't straight to the point
good demonstration. The slow motion really helps.
One of the craziest experiences I ever had was throwing knives with my friends who would camp out in the woods all summer up in Mammoth, Ca. But unlike all the technique videos, I learned right away that simply throwing the knife as hard as you can with confidence seems to work the most often! I was absolutely amazed at how I was hitting huge long shots without ever even trying to throw a knife before in my life. It almost feels like magic when you have no idea what you're doing, but you keep hearing that badass thunk when the knife finds its target.

That's amazing you must be doing something right because every time I try that it bounces back and goes whizzing by my head and yes the sound of it sticking into a log is very satisfying.

Clearly one of the best videos out there to learn no spin. The angle and the fact it's shot at high frame rate makes it very useful. Celadin is a beast but it's not very easy to really see what he does.

Good teaching. Simple, easy to understand. Thanks.
Excellent instructional video. Really simplified the technique for me, can't wait to give it a go. I'm gonna have to wait till at least the Spring though. Right now I'm buried in snow. Hard to believe the knife journeys that distance without going head over heels. But very accurate results. Really solid and very powerful technique. Glad I caught your video, Thanks.

For me the proof of the education is letting people know you struggle at a certain distance and when it happens you explain repetition and that makes your tutorial the best I've ever seen

Simple. Clear. Direct. Thank you.
You're really good at teaching. thanks for the info.
When I was a child I taught my self the throw a a knife that way "index finger alone knife back). Got to be easy, no need to figure distance , spin. Thank so much.
This has got to be the only technique I've seen that looks like it would work consistently with a reasonable amount of practice. Very cool!

Your welcome it's a lot of fun
I like your technique. I’ve thrown knives for thirty years. I like the jack ripper knives myself. Cause they’re fairly cheap and durable. Smaller to carry. I trained for many years using plywood targets in the shape of a person. Approximately life size targets. Cheaper to build using plywood. Since it’s going to get destroyed fairly quickly. I usually aim for the neck and end up eventually taking the head off. But it’s good to practice hitting arms or shoulders for a disarming strike. Anything soft like dragged up brush can be used as a backstop. I learned to throw flat on my own with my index. But seeing your sword finger technique. I’ll have to try practicing that now. It’s also good to train for the reverse or backhanded throw. Just a little different than your overhand technique. There is also underhanded throwing which makes it easier to throw much larger blades. Throwing knives is good martial arts practice for the backyard if you’re careful. Easy to take with you anywhere. Doesn’t cost ammo or make too much noise. Just remember not to take a knife to a gun fight and keep it as a last resort.

Thank you. I started with something very close to the ripper knives there good throwers. I haven't tried the backhand throw yet I'm interested at what distance I can do it effectively. And in any kind of a fight I'm going to probably hold on to the knife.
I haven't seen too many people in the world that can throw a knife like that buddy

Very cool! Thank you
Loved that at 18yds you didn't stick it, but didn't cut it out of your video. Makes you way more credible in my book. I'm gonna try this method out. You can hear how hard the knives are hitting and sticking in the wood. If someone had an attacker coming at them, you want it to stick good!! Most knife throwers knives just barely stick in the wood, more of a circus act then self defence, from my observation anyway... this way looks much better. 👌 Keep up the good work.

I used to have throwing knives and would practice in my backyard. This is the type of throw I'd use at 5 yards everytime and sometimes at 10. But from 15 yards I'd have to spin atleast one rotation or it felt like i was just lobbing it lol

Still, the half-spin throw is best for me. It's definitely no more difficult to calculate than a no spin throw, and the extra momentum caused by the spin means a deeper stick.

I’d love to see a penetration test between no spin, full spin and half spin. My gut tells me that full spin penetrates the deepest since the tip has linear and rotational velocity. But I could be wrong.
