Do I have this in my head right? Key is D, and you are starting the IV? Progression: IV-I-ii-iii
Bro this idea of teaching voicings by attaching them to a familiar shape is genius. I loved this lesson man, thanks. Btw, what a beautiful guitar.

Hi 👋 I am sold and will sign up as soon as funds are solid. Could you possibly do a video on some of your favorite gear? You get your Dgt to sound so clean and lively, I struggle getting my Dgt to stay clean. I want your tone (and ability!)

I love that 6/9 sound , its beautiful I need to get get it on my vocabulary. In case when only using the higher 4 strings do you omit the 5th or 7th on that 6/9 chord?
@TheDonutDoctor

C6/9 with a major 7th? That is a rootless CMaj13sus2 . "A 6/9 chord is a pentad chord that's made up of a major triad with a sixth and ninth above the root, but no seventh."

The voicing I'm playing simple has the 3rd, 6th, 9th, and 5th! You can absolutely sub out this 6/9 sound for any major 7th chord as long as it doesn't interfere with the melody. (Even if it does, you can still do it - these sounds are completely subjective and rules are meant to be broken - follow your own ears to what sounds the best!)

6/9 chords on the guitar usually omits the 3rd.
