Nice one! Basically, for a classic Maiden sound just play minor pentatonic with some Aeolian flavor sprinkled here and there. Lots of hammer-ons and pull-offs and repetition licks. One string legato scales in-between work nicely too.

First lick is awesome

I've noticed that Metal lead guitarists use a lick a lot and it's like a note, then up a string back 4 frets, then hammer on 4 frets up, then pull off to the second note that you played. Example in the "Flight of Icarus,"The solo goes basically as follows: a bend on the 4 Gstring, descending lick then up to 14 on the D string than an ascending lick then the lick I described. -e|----13h17p13-------13h17p13... -B|17------------------17-----------------... This is also in a lot of other solos in metal like "Mr.Crowley", and plenty of maiden songs.

So pretty much the beginning part is down stroke on 14b then up stroke pick on 12 then hammer on to 15 trying to get it right cant never get it right

Well you say that, the intro was comprised of the first trooper solo and a really common lick adrian does during a few solos, especially more recent ones (i think the first half was off a matter of life and death somewhere). And pretty much every riff this guy has shown in the vid is from some song slightly edited.

@@Mabufu381 actually the solo is Wasted Years, definitely the first lick, although the Trooper is indeed very similar.

@@kajnym44 the first bar is from wasted years, but then it transitions to the end of the first half of the trooper solos legato instead of going into the wasted years legato
