My first car was a manual. Once you find the friction zone or grip point of the clutch, either pull very lightly, or apply gentle throttle to not stall

Biggest difference between a bike and a car is that in a car your taught to not ride the clutch but on a bike it’s okay to ride the clutch especially when your doing slow maneuvers

The problem is its actually very easy to ride a motorcycle for an able bodied person. The issue is when its confusing and they dont understand what theyre doing. I had a buddy buy a 125cc grom and a guy in the parking lot said he rode dirtbikes and wanted to take it around the lot and he said okay. I rode a 650cc at the same time so i was there watching this happen. He gets on the grom, sets up like hes at the starting line at the racetrack, pins the throttle and dumps the clutch and this 125cc honda grom comes out from underneith him up into the aid pointing straight up hes still holding the handlebars standing on the ground and as the grom falls over he catches it from tipping over. It just goes to show things go wrong when people dont understand. They get on a bike like this when they dont know what theyre doing and think they do. You csn get hurt on a very small motorcycle if they dont know what theyre doing

@@mrcancan18correct, bikes typically have wet clutches and are designed in a way you can ride the clutch without damage to them. In a car you get the burnt clutch smell.
This is probably the best explanation of how to use a clutch.

This is how I learned to drive a manual car. Dad put me on an incline, and said "hold the car in place with just the clutch". Probably wasn't great for the clutch, but I learned pretty damn quick how to finesse a clutch pedal.

Best way to learn this is on an incline… my dad put me on our 30 degree driveway and said when I can start in the driveway and make it to the top… you’ll be ready. Personally don’t recommend this with a dirt bike or dual sport like me… you will in fact drop that bike on you. But you will NEVER drop a bike due to things like that ever again. It does teach you how to get a bike off you and how to get away from your bike when necessary… so I take that back… practice on hill and you learn how to drop a bike how to fall with a bike, how to lift a bike, and how to maneuver a downed bike, and clutch control… so yeah do it on a hill. You will be better than 90% of riders in a year

My mom taught me by putting me out in the pasture on a wet grassy Hill starting in first told me to take off without stalling it or spending the tires It was 96 Dodge Dakota sport two-wheel got it on the third try she had me watch the RPMs and when they started to drop just slightly if that's when i let off the brake and give it Just a little gas and letting the clutch up just a hair more to start it rolling and then releasing the clutch at which point the truck did not need any throttle to drive around in 1st
This is the exact way I teach manual shifting to anyone whether car truck or bike

Good video to teach people in a quick way
This information was very clear and concise thank you.
Love this. Well executed. Anything to save lives and help people be more safe. Please keep it up.
Great lesson 👍
Very nice example 👍
It's actually getting out without stalking the bike. The same can be said for driving a stick/manual shift car. When pulling off, you have to let off the clutch slowly while at the same time pushing on the accelerator. When done correctly, you won't stall (or car going off) the car.
These videos are actually quite good. Things you know already but with a better explanation. Keep them coming !
Note -only works on hugher cc bikes or if ur not fat in lower cc bikes so if u bike doesn’t move when u let go of ur clutch aka” out of friction zone” the just give acceleration or ur bike will just stop and will make u stall even more .. ( i learned it the hard way )
This is a GREAT EDUCATIONAL VIDEO

When i was a teenager i bought a 94 cobra that had mild mods done too it and made about 300 wheel with no traction control and 20 some odd year old abs. The first thing my brother in law taught me to drive it is to get it to roll without ever touching the gas. Slip tbe clutch get it in motion and you can come completely off the clutch without ever touching the gas and without stalling. This has been the most useful thing i could have ever learned to daily a stick and to race cars as i later moved onto
i’m not as good on motorcycles, but on cars i’ve gotten pretty good finding the ideal spot to let the clutch out to. it feels nice being able to hop into any manual car and be able to drive it fine. i’m glad i got a manual for my first car. i just like it better in almost every way. auto would be nicer if you had a truck or something you were taking off-road.
Them Jordan’s fire w/ the bike paint scheme
My first bike was heavy and it was easy to learn but was great to put my mindset in holding it up, turns ect. My 2nd was my cbr1000 and it was wild the difference. I am thankful i went from heavy to light i feel like it helped me understand the clutch and the weight difference.
This is great advice
Friction zone, good phrase
Thank you so much for posting this 🙏

Thats exactly how I learned. I had a parking bump in front aswell. Super easy way to learn
This was the very first thing i learned when riding. Then when i was old enough an got my first car an it was manual i had zero prob driving it the first time i ever tried. I already understood how a clutch functions.
Good teach 👏🏾
Best tutorial good brother . I love how you explained it. I been riding 2 years. Crashed my ninja500 n now got a suzuki 500 and i would love to teach my girl how to ride slowly for fun in open space. This video should help a lot ! Cause i learned from youtube as well , so i hope this helps her

This was really helpful I pulled the wheels up on a 2 stroke 90 even tho I was somewhat aware of fanning the clutch but not this specifically
Nicely done.
Damn that grey looks sick!
kill switch gets us all 😂
With a manual car just let your heel touch the floor when you step on the clutch , take your toes off slowly ,where your feet feels uncomfortable from the ankle area is when the car starts moving
Is that diddys bike? "The friction zone" 😂😂😂
It’s a sweet spot… it’s how you can tell if someone belongs on a motorcycle or not lol

Very smart excercise & no it won't burn a clutch out in the few minutes of practice.

Good advice for newer riders. Too many people rush trying to get onto the street. My father took my to big parking lots at young ages and taught me properly. Not everyone has that father to do so but i heavily recommend this. Take your time. Go slow and learn the bike. Take plenty of time before going on the street

Just like driving a car with an manual transmission. We in the UK call it the biting point on the cultch peddle but friction zone sounds good as well.
I called it, The release point 😅
Just like MT cars just feel the biting point of the clutch it’s much more easier cuz you do it in your hand you have 100% control on it if you stay calm.
Its called biting point in the uk 🇬🇧, every car is basically manual here
This is how I taught everyone to ride. WITHOUT THROTTLE! I had to disconnect my throttle cable because I told one person “don’t twist the throttle” and the first thing they did was twist the throttle. Throttle.
Can u please explain counter steering? Especially during curves and turns ( on highways, streets, and canyons)
That’s a good clutch lol
dont see enough YT channel riders with da zx14r nice
This is step 1 before actually riding a bike you’re unfamiliar with. Before riding any new bike I recommend you FULLY understand the ergonomics and lean angles. Practice in place is fine just don’t die 🤣
Thank You
Isn’t the friction zone just a dimension adjacent to the twilight zone?
OKAY I GOT, IT'S LIKE A MANUAL CAR..
I want to use the friction zone, but I'm scared of burning my clutch😭
Same with manual car find the sweet spot
Thank you
