This recipe is soooo good!! The tangy tomatillo sauce with the spice from the jalapeños is the perfect blend! Don't forget the tender cooked pork!! You can make a delicious burrito or just put it in a bowl and enjoy! I'm telling you!!! You have to make it!! Here's your recipe!!❤️💋💋 XX
Ingredients
Verde Sauce
2 lbs of tomatillos (husked and cleaned)
2-3 Poblano peppers(sliced in half and seeded)
3-4 jalapeños peppers
1 -1 1/2 cup chicken broth( as needed to thin sauce)
Meat
2-3 lbs of pork cut into medium sized cubes
2 tablespoons of avocado oil
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon oregano
salt and pepper
1/2 onion chopped
4 cloves garlic
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
Juice from one lime
Instructions
1. Coat peppers and half of an onion with avocado oil and place in the oven on broil until chard. Let peppers and onion cool and then place in the blender with 1/2 cup of cilantro, 4 cloves of garlic and juice from 1 lime.
2. Now brown your meat in a dutch oven or large sauce pot with your 2 tablespoons of avocado oil, 1/2 onion, spices ( oregano, cumin), minced garlic, cilantro and juice from one lime.
3. Once your meat is browned pour your blended sauce mixture over your meat. Cover and let simmer for 30 minutes.
4. When you've simmer for 30 minutes add your chicken broth 1-1 1/2 cups for thinning out your sauce.
5. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 more hours. Stirring occasionally.
When meat is tender your ready to eat!!

    Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. I just finished making this without all the seeds and membranes from the poblanos because my husband cannot do spicy. I roasted the poblanos, tomatillos, garlic and onion together in the oven with a little avocado oil, salt and pepper. Fantastic flavor profile. I substituted chicken for pork, also seasoned with smoked paprika, and added two cans of black beans. This is the only substitutions I made. It smells amazing.

    Looks great. If you’ll initially cook the pork in thirds in that pot, it’ll brown up a little more creating fond in the bottom of the pan. Then use the chicken broth to deglaze the pan, add the pork to the heavenly mixture from the fond and continue with the rest. Builds a lot of deep caramelized pork flavor.

    U need to hold the lime squeezer correctly so that the juice can come out of the holes on the bottom end that you held sideways and nothing was coming out. You would have more luck with it that way.

    Seems like this should be very flavorful. and slightly spicy. Perfect for my taste. The problem I encounter when simmering meat is that once the recommended cook time is complete, the meat seems tough, not tender. What advice do you have to fix that problem?     Continue to slow cook it. It gets more tender the longer it cooks. This chile verde comes out really tender.

    A fatty pork works better but honestly I’ve used all cuts before. I use what I have in my freezer at the time.
