Excellent video and well explained. If you have driven Baleno Alpha AGS, pls let me know if u have noticed a whining sound in D2 (lower torque gear) during deceleration. I am hearing this in mine and am wondering whether it is due to the regenerative braking or something else.

When I had an Ignis with AGS in the Uk, it was awful in the cold weather. It would change up too early from 1st to 2nd and Judder. The only way I could avoid this was to leave it to warm up on the drive before driving off. I now have the newer model with CVT and it is much better.

Hi, I have very recently started driving my new baleno amt, and by new i mean just 2 days. As i am transitioning from a manual i20 to an amt car I still need some getting used to with the throttle input without clutch. Having said that i have a small question about an issue am facing while reversing the car which might be due to my wrong driving style but am not sure though. While reversing the car when i gently release the brake it inches behind in a flat surface but when i had a speed breaker behind me, it dint get over it on its own. I gave a slight throttle input but i was not getting enough power to still cross it(also the front right wheel was trying to get over another seperate small bump) hence the car was swaying forward and backward very little. Then i had to change to neutral and let the car move a little forward and then reverse it, thats when it overcame the bump. Without that momentum it was unable to do so. Also once its up the bump there it had sudden acceleration in reverse in that tight spot which i had to immediately brake for! Overall it wasn't a smooth experience while reversing like i used to have with a manual clutch control. It is my 2nd day with an automatic. I request to stand corrected if i am driving in a wrong manner here.

Hi there... Nicely explained. Jut one query... What if the driver or someone else accidently hits the rod and it shifts from AGS to Manual and vice versa ? Have driven a CVT but not an AGS yet... therefore asking....

If it shifts to manual or back, no worries. Example you are at 40, AGS has selected 4th gear and you accidently shift lever to manual mode, gear remains 4th and will not change by itself

How to park it on extreme slope? Also does creep function work on slope??

What about in case of dead breaking will it stall???

Don't know about AMT of Maruti, but hill hold and hill decent ctrl are present by default in other automatic gearboxes. It should be there in AMT also.

Sir mere pas celerio ags hai...i forget to head light off so battery is down..and car is not able to start..company mechanic charge battery and after that car is start...sir my question is if we are traveling leh ladakh region and same problem occurs by chance...what's the solution???? What will be the mileage of AGS car? How less it will be from manual transmission car?

Is it OK if we park in Manual mode (M1 OR M2) without applying the hand-brake ?

Handbrake is always recommended but yes M1 is equivalent to gear 1

The light of LED lamps is very annoying and hurts eyes. So I hope Maruti continues with Halogen lamps.

Just put brakes when on red signal and put it to neutral and your car will stop and not move until you put to drive mode again. The engine obviously will not stop while you make these moves.

Can we drive it in Nutral, while running highway in-between can we run car in nutral?, For fuel economy sake?

No issues - the system will automatically cut the throttle for a very short duration.

Under AGS,which is good Maruti or Tata or Hyundai as per gear shift and performance under Rs.10 lakh car segment o

Ideally, you should. But even if you don't, the system will do it for you

- Maruti / Tata transmission from Italian company called “ Magneti Marelli “ and from experience “ Italian are the worst in field of transmissions “ - Honda CVT “ built by Honda it self “ some Honda has issues but I think even if it’s bad it will be much more better than Italian transmissions from my own experience using AGS: - Not easy to shift ( sometimes you can really feel the gear nocking as going to brake ) - Engine power drubbed down with 50% just for shifting!! I never drive a car that lost that much of power just for shifting. - For fast rides ( pass a car or any emergency cases ) it will not shift until you remove your foot from ACCELERATOR
