Alicia I cannot express my gratitude! I've been learning French since March and your classes are so useful! I'm a Brazilian and I was having a bad time searching for lectures bc they were too long and not as good as yours. Even though Portuguese is similar, your lectures in English make everything so easy! Thank you so much for this material! I'm learning a lot

Before watching the video i was so scared of this topic because i had no idea what "est-ce que" was or how it was prononunced, and it seemed really tricky to me. But after watching, i'm feeling relieved and successful. The way you introduce it is so plain, and it makes learners feel comfortable and understand that there's nothing to be afraid of. Merci beaucoup pour la leçon, je t'aime ♥

Not really because if your question is about a notion of time you'll need quand, if you're asking about a place, you'll introduce your question with "où, "qui" if it's a person you're asking about etc.... but you can always choose to use est-ce que instead of the verb subject inversion.

Salut, je m'appelle Renée. Tout d'abord,la vidéo est super. J'ai un question,s'il vous plaît. I understood 'est-ce que' but What does 'Qu'est-ce qui' mean ? What's the difference between the two or can they be used interchangeably? In the sentence, Qu'est-ce qui cause la pollution? 《cause》 is used as a verb, right? Aussi,je ne parle pas espagnol. Donc s'il vous plaît ,n'expliquez pas en espagnol, with regard to Spanish grammar.

  • @carmzrubio-torset7117

It is also good to point out that usually with the question: "Est-ce que", the answers can be YES/OUI or NO/NON. Exemple: Est-ce que tu aimes le sport? Oui, j'aime le sport./Non, je n'aime pas le sport. Est-ce que vous travaillez ce weekend? Non, nous ne travaillons pas ce weekend./Oui, nous travaillons ce weekend. Etc... I think, in English, this would likely correspond with: Do you (like/want)...? or Are you ....? and even Is/Are there...? As these questions are normally answerable with YES or NO. Do you....? Do you like sports? Est-ce que tu aimes le sport? Are you...? Are you working tomorrow? Est-ce tu travailles demain? Is/Are there...? Is there a bathroom in the (hotel) room? Est-ce qu'il y a une salle de bains dans la chambre? And also, the "e" has been dropped when followed by the vowel, like: Est-ce qu'ils aiment... Est-ce qu'elle mange... Est-ce qu'il y a.... Great video by the way and it's very helpful with my review in French. Merci beaucoup!

Hello ma'am, I hope you are fine and safe. Ma'am, I have confusion kindly help me. If my audience is a mix and there are male and female both. Then how I will use 'Ils' and 'elles' in my sentence formation. For example - Ils aiment beaucoup, parce-que ils attendent pour vos cusinez. Here i know that I cook for those people of group where both genders are available. Then how my sentence will form? Because I am using Ils and Ils denoted by Masculines.

Sorry for being late but, Pretty sure if you have a mix of both genders you just use "ils" take the examples below. Ex: Elles aiment parler le français. Now let's say any amount of males enter the group. Ex: ils aiment parler le français. We just substitute "Elles" for "ils" even if they are a mix of both genders, hope I answered your question! Bonne journėe!

While I absolutely love every lesson you are providing us in French, and the channel is excellent! BUT, As a Man and a Feminist, I have noticed some example sentences projecting harmful stereotypes about women, for example “She eats a lot”, or “She speaks a lot”. I don’t think they are appropriate.

Interesting! Even though she eats a lot seems totally fine to me! She can do what she wants haha, and she speaks a lot is also not a bad thing. I do speak a lot too :D, but I understand your point. Thanks for sharing and we'll make sure to not fall into some stupid cliches of course!

it's A1, you don't need to speak like your rent is due. It's too fast for 99% of the peopl.

Luckily you have the option to slow me down on KZread and that's useful for people who thinks this is way too fast! In any case thanks for letting me know, I'll pay attention to that in the future.
