YOU ARE THE BEST! Thank you for hearing my cry, in wanting those faders! Thank you for getting your site fixed, up and running. They are really helpful to visually see the signal before & after the compressor. I appreciate you. (AND) - - - just for the record. Your explanation of compression was the best I've seen so far and you made it super easy for me to finally get a grip on compression. All your videos are awesome and I am a lifetime watcher/subscriber. Have a blessed day love!

I am surprised to see this 'fader' in the devices. I don't seem to have that in my Live 11 Standard. Is that only available in Suite? BTW: thank you for your informative video's, they have taught me many things (the 1000 page manual is way too much trouble to find the info that is relevant for me)

Just note that compression doesn't make things louder as such. Because we compress a louder signal, it just makes the quieter parts seem like they're louder because of how much we've compressed something else by.

Most videos on compression show graphs, visuals, knobs and settings and then show what the effect on the sound is. I'd rather see one where compression is explained from the sounds. What wishes/demands/problems ever originated compression? When should you use compression, what is your goal? I think i know compression stared as a tool to enable transporting more sound information (mainly telephone speech) over a limited bandwidth (cables). So no musical purposes. Applying it to radio transmission probably did. Guitar players started using them for other purposes. But, say, what preferences does I fulfill in drums? It should be possible to make a video only using sound examples showing the effects. A topic I also was interested in: in TV commercial always sound louder than the show around them. Still, the network will say they aren't (due to measurement method it seems). This is said to be compression too, and your video partly show this very well (but what does the make up do?). Tough subject (also shows in how many videos there are about it (as well the number of sequels many youtubers need to make on the subject). so maybe rather a 'when and why' (and this is how it sounds) than 'what is it' (and this is how it looks)? I always envy people that can hear how fast it works.

what is the point of the Makeup button if you turn it off and manually adjust output - shouldn't the make up gain button apply the required gain reduction automatically?

It's ok, but usually it's way louder than the input signal before compression. So makes gain staging/mixing more difficult.
