Chinese is indeed a logical yet elegant language. Its like studying math and chemistry. You combine characters and you produce a sentence, flip their positions and the meaning will change. Its as if you are forming a math equation. Thank you Harbin Mandarin!

Thank you for this very nice clip 🙂. The design is very attractive, and the sentences help me learn some basic grammar. However I thought that orange was ju se, and pink was fenhong se. Are these words interchangeable?

Hi David, the jú in “jú sè” means mandarin (as in a mandarin orange/tangerine), while the “chéng” in “chéng sè” is the fruit orange, so these colors are named after these fruits. Personally I always say chéng sè, but jú sè is fine. In “fěn hóng sè”, “fěn” means pink and “hóng” means red, so it's redder pink color.

As a British English speaker I know some learners will cringe a bit at the use of pants rather trousers. I prefer trousers over pants, rather than the other way round. 🤭 Handbag rather than purse, in which we only put money, if we have it. 💖 I enjoy these videos very much. 💕
