I'm from Bulgaria and can confirm that. I have been to most of the country and I've heard so many different dialects. Some places use words that don't exist in another, commonly known things have different words in different place, but they mean the same thing, like "картоф" and "компир" and much more... The only expression I know in Bulgarian : LECANOCI DIETZA = goodnight children In the 80s people living in the South of Romania tampered with their TV sets to be able to catch Bulgarian TV shows, since during Ceausescu's time, Ro TV lasted only 2 hours/day and contained only propaganda. Whenever I visited my uncle, I loved watching children's shows. The image was shaky and I didn't understand a word, but it was great fun. 😘

@@Cactus6672 no i think branimir says that finland is naive for accepting bulgarian imigrants, and yuliyan says finland is not naive because they are getting money from bulgaria if i understand well. It seems that some persons imagine that helping others is a sign of weakness. Don t worry, you helped him already with the food and listening, then you can t just do everything for him without putting yourself in trouble (for exemple you couldn t buy food to everyone who needs everyday), but you already had a positive impact which is always good, and you didn t fall in the state of mind of "everyone is probably bad and hypocrit and selfish so I should also be like that if I don t want to be a victim " (which doesn t even work)

Those are the Slavic languages. There's a lot of r's.
the best part about this video is watching her skin get better as the lessons progress. drop the skin care routine queen
As a Romanian, I find many similarities, or it sounds familiar: - the informal Govorish has an ending similar to Romanian or Latin for singular second pers (except its shti, but sh is enough understand). When she said there's a formal way: Govorite, to me its clear that that's the plural version (the ending sounds familiar). Just like in Ro. the formal polite way is to address a (single) person with the plural version. - Blogodaria, in Romanian we have blodogori, which means to speak (archaic or used in an annoying way), so to me it sounds like saying "I'll mention you" (sort of similar in Romanian) Btw, I don't like that she slowly says Blagodaria, and then continues saying Bogodaria. Where did consistency go? -Nyama zashto, I can sort of relate, since za I think is a sort of "of" or "for" and shto is "what", so its like saying "(you don't have to thank me) for nothing", similar to Ro way of saying (N-ai pentru ce) - Zdrasti - sounds similar to zdrav (zdravan), which is healthy/strong in Romanian (probably from Bulgarian). They got to be related.. - Priyatn sounds similar to prieten - friend (Bulgarian priatel I see). They got to be related.. We also have a word "prii", meaning to be beneficial, helping. So its like saying "Its beneficial for me to meet you". -Izvinete sort of sounds like vina in Ro, which means "(somebody's) fault", so to me it sounds like saying "Its my fault", or "My bad (excuse me)". -Hram is also a religious word in Ro, but it means church rang (or a patron of a church). To Borat it means something different.. -Sajaleavam sound related to Ro jalea, which means suffering / mourning (after a dead). -shest (6), is like Ro shase (6) -13 vs 30, is like saying in Ro trei-spre-zece (13, three over ten) vs trei-zeci (30, three ten). Identical sistem.. -100 sto sound similar to Ro suta (100). -56 petdeset i shest, again is similar with that "i" which in Ro is "shi" (meaning "and"). five ten and six. (I though it would be shest-na-petdecet, but no, its like in Ro). -This is unrelated to Ro, but since tazi is "this" fem. version, I remembered a cool Bulgarian song: "(Deijan Pres. Svetla ) Tazi vecer", and realize it means "This evening". PS, you don't have to ask in Bulgarian if they speak English..😀 Its not like someone knows English but cannot understand your question in English..
very helpful

Mira Aroyo from Ladytron speaks this language, so it's a good motivation for me.
Great lessons! May I just suggest that using the Romanian diacritics on "a" would help you a lot in switching from cyrillic to latin correspondent. "a" (or "i") with circonflex accent for which you used "y" like in "dobyr den" and respectivelly "a" with "upside down circonflex accent" which is an "a" pronounced like in the English word "about" and which you left unsignified as a simple "a", like in "... dA se zApoznaem"...
Good lesson
As a Bulgarian i personally find Bulgarian hard man😭 So many little details and forms and god. I came here to see how its actually lectured to foreigners 😍😍😍😍

You are very sweet. I can read and write Russian, understand most of Bulgarian written words, but never tried to speak or talk Bulgarian. Guess most older pple speak Russian in Bulgaria, having learned it in school during the Soviet era.

Yes that’s right but because Bulgaria’s problem is population because the country is the highest decline in Europe so Foreigners and Bulgarian expats can revive to teach the language to survive Bulgaria in the issue of decline

Im also learning bulgarian wish me luck. I really need it :D
I took Bulgarian up on a whim lol I Didn’t realise it was a category 4 language for English speakers, there is only one step harder: category 5 and that is Arabic, Cantonese, mandarin and Japanese. Ive already learned, French, Portuguese and I’m doing Modern Standard Arabic or al fus’ha and al Najdi dialect at the same time and decided to take up Bulgarian, with my friend. It’s not what I expected but it’s not too hard, I learned the Bulgarians alphabet and to read in a few hours, I have a trouble pronouncing ер голям (ъ) though. I got lucky and landed on my feet because my Bulgarian friend is very patient and has taught me to hold simple conversations within a week and gets me to translate Bulgarian media and shows me songs for me to learn through rhythm. It’s just like any language, it’s only hard if you don’t try, just practice everyday, do your shopping and naming your items in Bulgarian as you shop and don’t be scared to get things wrong and if you can try and find a person to have dialogues with each day. Much love to 🇧🇬 from 🏴

Don't forget, the easiest way to learn a foreign tongue is in bed. Just put a vocabulary or grammar book under your pillow when you go to sleep.
Нямам идея защо гледам този клип защото съм българка но ми беше много лесно 😂😂😂

I wanted to learn Bulgarian. Interesting
Bulgarian in 3 minutes, video length: 30 minutes 😂
My grandpa is Bulgarian so that means I’m somewhat Bulgarian myself. Decided to learn this for him :) similar to Russia (or is it Russia?)
one of the 3 languages I hope i learn
You are a great teacher Iva. This is a fantastic video lesson. I already learned all in the first lesson. Thank you. Is Burgas the best place to retire in Bulgaria? Hundreds of Canadian expats live there. Wondering why?

Burgas is a great place to retire, I live here now. Having in mind that I was born in Sofia is quite uncommon to move to Burgas from the capital but still, I adore the city! Never met a Canadian here though :D
Bulgarian sounds like a really hard language but it was always my dream to go there!
