These videos are incredible with the amount of knowledge and how well you explain it, and the fact that you use (at least for this series) football tables and other fun tables like the james bond film table just makes the videos that much better, only had to watch one video to subscribe

Thanks for this superb video!!! It was a lot of informative details bundled up in a short time... On a lighter note, I started watching bond films thanks to my father who was a big Sean Connery fan... I am a Pierce Brosnan fan as I actively started watching Bond films after Goldeneye. Now when I revisit the old Bond movies I can truly understand why Sean Connery truly made the James Bond character a Global icon!!!

sir is this true about decimal: In SQL, the decimal(5,1) data type specifies a decimal number with a total of 5 digits and 1 digit after the decimal point. Here's what each part of the specification represents: The first number (5) indicates the total number of digits allowed for the number, both before and after the decimal point. The second number (1) specifies the number of digits allowed after the decimal point. In the case of decimal(5,1), you have a maximum of 5 digits in total, with 1 digit reserved for the decimal part. This means you can have numbers ranging from -999.9 to 999.9. Here are some examples of valid numbers for a decimal(5,1) column: 123.4 -45.6 0.0 999.9 And here are some examples of invalid numbers for a decimal(5,1) column: 1234.5 (exceeds the total number of digits allowed) -12.34 (exceeds the number of digits after the decimal point allowed) 1000.0 (exceeds the maximum value allowed)

@@LearnBI thank you so much for your suggestion. so glad i found your channel. just starting out with SQL but have used FileMaker to start a DB so have some experience with that. i downloaded the free Navicat 2-week trial then when that runs out I'll switch to MySQLWorkbench

You could use Navicat or MySQL Workbench

I've got stuck at 5.35, because I can't work out how to set up a new MySQL connection. I'm using Navicat Premium. Super frustrating. Establishing a new connection is super easy, but Navicat wants to know Host, Port, User Name and Passsword, and of course I can't give it those if the database doesn't exist yet! Adam can you provide some instructions on how to get Navicat set up for the instructions from 5.35 onward please. Thanks

You’ll either need to download and install an rdbms (MySQL in this case) on your compute or create and instance in the cloud (e.g. cloud.google.com - paid). Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to create a connection to it in Navicat.
