Learn about the British American Institute, Dresden, Ontario

In 1841 Josiah Henson and abolitionists Hiram Wilson and James Fuller purchased land along the Sydenham River here in Dresden. They built a manual training school named the British American Institute.
For ten years, the British American Institute provided education and manual-labour training to Underground Railroad refugees in the Dresden area.
