It worked very well a few days ago, but after adding it to a web app today, It sends the code, but it is not delivered to some phones. It failed to deliver on about 50% of the phones.

It doesn't make sense to ask for a phone number on their phone...which inherently has the phone number. Their number should be an automatic default to populate the phone number that they are using, and not have to redundantly enter it. You are introducing an opportunity for user error by allowing the user to mess up the phone number: bad UX.

Interesting. I feel there is a loophole somewhere considering chat apps and such would require phone numbers, yes? Understand I'm not a developer, just a quixotic UXer.

I'm not sure what you just said. Outside US/UK, phone numbers are used as user ID? So then, you agree with what I'm saying? Sweet, tell Googs to update the authentication to something that makes sense.

I have a Cloud Function that creates a new User with a default user name if no provided to the realtime database but the function doesn't trigger only on Phone Auth registrations.
