Learn a beginner-friendly etude that’s fingerpicked entirely using the Travis picking technique. Travis picking, named after Merle Travis, is a repetitive right-hand picking pattern where the underlying chords continually change.
This etude is written as an introductory piece to this style of playing, but it does include one challenging aspect: the rhythm is swung. Very lovely tune indeed! It has the same fingerpicking pattern as Etude No. 5 which is my favorite RC101 etude. I may have missed if that was mentioned. The pattern just sounds different on low G, obvs. 😊 I just wanted to say really quick about the "red light approach" to ending the tune. Another way you could end the tune is the "yellow light approach" which is when you speed up crazy fast to make it through the yellow light last second before it turns red - but imagine applying that to playing this tune. 😂 I'm cry laughing about that... 😂😅😂 Definitely not recommending anyone do that while actually driving, of course... Cough... 😳 Thank you for your great lessons! 😊
