I’m a novelist with an air rescue scene in a storm between Maury island and the mainland. Would you be called for such a mission and if so, how long would it take to get to the scene?

Late to the party but, they COULD in theory, if its that bad, but it has to be DOD Personnel and might be like 30-45 minutes if I had to estimate. Usually sheriffs offices do that, but WASAR is more likely to respond, they can get there quicker.
I'm leaning hard, what's supposed to happen?
Do they work with PJ's?

Será que existe alguém no mundo que poderia realizar o maior sonho da minha vida eu sou muito apaixonado pela USNAVY e por sua aviação desde de criancinha quando eu assistia filmes antigos da segunda guerra mundial como a batalha de Midiway eu fiquei fascinado com a gloriosa USNAVY infelizmente moro no interior de Minas Gerais no Brasil e sou muito pobre e sozinho jamais conseguirei realizar o grande sonho de toda minha vida o de conhecer um porta aviões seus tripulantes e seus aviões será que existe a possibilidade de ter alguma pessoa no mundo que poderia realizar meu sonho sou uma pessoa muito humilde e peço a Jesus Cristo uma chance de realizar esse sonho, se alguém puder me ajudar responda aí por favor?
22squadron in RAF has gone now we need better eye sight to be airload master thannthe pilot! I could do every thing except Aier Load master i like combination two jobs transferable skills both medicsl and flying etc.
You're still not as good as the Coast Guard, but keep trying.

They are actually pretty good, USCG respond for civs and DOD, NASWI and other SAR components (ex. pax river) are only DOD and are specialized. It's hard to get in their rate, but they're pretty good.
