Thank you so very much for filming and posting this. I just bought a second hand 4 in 1 petrol garden multi-tool and found the fuel leaking quite badly out that hole in the filler cap. Just gave this a go and blow me down it worked! Bloody fantastic! You are a star! 🌟 🤩 ⭐️

In a pinch you can use an Echo Vent and hose by drilling a tight fit hole in the cap for the hose. They generally will hold 5-7 psi.

Absolutely! I have done that before and works a treat if you have a spare. I’ve also pinched duck bills from other caps in a pinch too. Saves waiting 2 weeks for the part to get delivered that’s for sure :)

Bought cheap Chinese strimmer 3 years ago only use for 1 hour every 3 weeks been great up until today was a lot of swirling petrol in tank and petrol was coming out hole in petrol cap spray on my back any suggestions to fix this please? New cap or your fix video and what the hole in petrol tank is for thought about glueing hole but must be there for a reason?

Don’t glue that hole, that’s your breather. Copy this video, or get a replacement cap.

Yes, if you glue that hole it will no longer vent. After a minute or two the engine will just shut down.

Well in the US , ethanol turns duckbill valves to mush. Just buy a 10 pack for under $10

@@VintageEngineRepairs , thanks for the great video. I didnt have such good luck. The duckbill valve disintegrated the 3 times I have tried to remove them to clean them . They were like pieces of bubble gum. Totally Weird.

You’ll never get into the Didgeridoo band if you can’t get a noise out of that duck bill! Nice tip
