If someone gives you the blueprints for some new electrical equipment that uses technology that has never existed you probably would still struggle to build it if you didn't have a decent knowledge of the field. If that isn't enough she builds her own weapons. Hell, she has her own lab. Jinx is definitely a genius. Not Heimerdinger or Jayce level for sure but nothing to knock at either

We always thought she was just making fun of Vi, turns out (retconned) she's referring to Powder.

Jinx talking to her weapons is actually kind of sad now in hindsight. We know she hears the voices of all the people she's lost in her head, and they don't seem to say good things to her. They kind of...put a voice to her fears, if that makes sense? It makes Fishbone's "voice of reason" sound more like she's arguing with her last bit of sanity 😞

I know you like Jinx and yes, it was a big deal that she got how this worked and was able to build it, but everybody is downplaying what Jayce and Victor achieved. Teaching yourself how to do something is a success but it's not the same as inventing that thing. And Jayce did not have a whole theory behind this, he saw somebody use it once. He knew it was possible and that's about it.

@@MsBuchnerd understanding and application technology is still challenging. Each genius comes in different forms, she borrowed others’ theories and turned them powerful... Like a great inventor. There's no meaning to argue who's the best when they are fundamentally at different phases of innovation.

when i heard ekko saying " i had a crush til u started talking to the guns" i thought that was a kind of metaphor for jinx being chaotic with bullets and guns but it turned out she really talks to the guns :D

I haven't watched Arcane yet so I'm just not gonna read the comments at all. Edit, 11 days later: I'm literally bawling. Someone give this girl a hug and a ton of therapy.

I think fishbones is meant to seem like a joke, but it really represents Jinx’s desires for normalcy in her life that she knows she’ll never achieve From her perspective, Jinx is a death machine. She kills everyone around her. Silco saw some of her potential for extreme destruction and malicious callousness, but he looked past it since she’s especially useful to someone like him and he knew he could keep her in check to prevent any sort of complete collapse. He’s gone though, leaving behind someone whose spent their entire life creating explosions and admiring the damage they could do to the world around them. Likewise, I’d say her destructive tendencies are a coping mechanism on their own. If we think about it, she’s constantly consumed by guilt manifesting in the shape of the voices and hallucinations that inhabit her mind. I’d argue destroying her surroundings is almost an attempt at either destroying those voices or creating disasters whose sounds can drown out the ones in her head.

Oh wow, game Jinx is really a lot of fun! This actor did a really great job, and I also think that Purnell did a really good job of re-creating her for the Arcane show. There was a lot of great moments in this, but as someone who is slightly crazy themselves, I really appreciated this quite creepy 20 seconds long laugh around the 3:08 mark. I'm imagining the sound guys starting to get a bit nervous with this woman in the booth who we're not really sure if she's acting anymore.

Jinx singing her version of "Here comes Vi" is officially my favorite thing ever, well, second to Arcane. Also after Arcane it occurred to me that Jinx talks to Fishbones for a reason, we see her talk to the other voices, and her talking to Fishbones indicates to me that she's arguing with her own inner, reasonable and "nice" voice. Which is tragic but also shows that she still has that voice so I'm going to have some hopium and say that Powder isn't fully gone.
