To understand these two cinematics and how they tie into each other, we need to understand Yasuo and Yone's stories, Ionian beliefs, and a little bit of demonology. Yasuo and Yone are brothers, specifically half-brothers. Yasuo was the bastard son of Yone's mother and another man, and because he was so looked down on, he always felt like he had something to prove, and with both their fathers absent from their lives, Yone had to be Yasuo's primary male role model. Fast forward to the Noxian Invasion, and Yone is leaving to fight on the front lines while Yasuo, having mastered a legendary wind technique, is left behind to defend his master. Yasuo goes to fight anyways, and returns to the monastery to find his master dead (it was heavily implied for the longest time that Riven was responsible before it was finally confirmed in the short story "Confessions of a Broken Blade"). Yasuo is blamed for Souma's death, so he goes looking for a way to clear his name before being confronted by Yone in a duel. Yasuo is forced to kill Yone, thus sending Yone's spirit to the spirit world. This is where we have to branch out into multiple different areas of the mythos to tie these two cinematics together, so bear with me. First, Ionian beliefs. The Ionians believe that when you die, your soul gets sent to the spirit world, where a spirit guides your soul to a special flower where the living can commune with you that only opens once every year. However, souls can stray from this path, where others spirits can trap you in an endless cycle of torment where you relive your worst memories. Yone's soul almost gets trapped in that cycle, but before the loop can be closed, he gets intercepted by a special kind of spirit called an Azakana. Azakana are the lowest form of demon in Runeterra, they latch onto living souls and feed on a particular negative emotion that weighs heavily on a person's mind in the moment. In Yone's case, his Azakana was feeding on Yone's guilt for not taking a more active role in ensuring Yasuo stayed put with Souma. However, Yasuo killed Yone before the Azakana could graduate to full demon, forcing the Azakana to reveal itself sooner than intended to try to devour Yone's soul. Yone fights back and kills the Azakana, but is revived in the real world with the Azakana's mask attached to his face, neither living nor wholly dead. Yone is now hunting these Azakana in the hopes that by trapping them in their own masks, he can understand what he himself has become, thereby freeing him to travel to the afterlife. This pretty much explains "The Path," but there's an added layer in that it shows how the Ionians would tell the story, it doesn't show precisely what happened. Fast forward to the events of "Kin of the Stained Blade," and Yasuo has attracted the attention of another Azakana feeding on Yasuo's guilt for killing Yone. Yone finds Yasuo and helps him defeat the Azakana at the last moment, and Yasuo, believing nothing is left for him to do in Ionia, decides to leave. As they do so, he becomes the bodyguard for Ahri, who's looking for any remnant of her Vastayan tribe, and they travel to the pirate port of Bilgewater, from where they will become central characters in the Ruined King game. This of course was all leading up to Yone's release during the spirit blossom event that League had last year, which was its first major lore event since "The Burning Tide" in 2015. Yone is actually one of the more important characters in the context of the universe due to how tied up he is in the cosmology of the world and of course, demons. He actually has several quotes against demon characters in-game.

Amazing summary and you got here before me to do it. Very good job referring to the “confessions of a broken blade” short story since it is such an important part of the greater portion of this story, filling in all the gaps and answering questions that isn’t told in Yasuo’s story. Another great small detail you point out is that while many people look at “The path” as a canon story of Yone and how he has come to be what he is it’s not exactly what happened being that those details precisely are unknown and it’s meant to just be exactly as it’s called a myth that the Ionian people tell. Other small details in that are cool to point out for them would be that you see 1/2 of the Ionian interpretation of death in “The Wolf” flying by and how you see one of the obstacles that can lure sprits into the never ending cycle in the snake woman and all the petrified sprits frozen in front of her.

I'd rather call them Cinematics instead of Trailers. Sure, they're kinda advertising the game, but a Trailer is more like a compilation of the game, with reasons to play it.

Ahri and Yasuo leaving Ionia for Bilgewater is directly before the "tale of the ruined king" trailer you already saw before. That's how it's linked to Ruination.

Small Lore Update : both Yone and Yasuo were attacked by Azakana a lesser type of demon that attaches to a person and feeds on his negative emotions becoming stronger untill it finally consumes his host. The Azakana stalking on Yone took his shot in the Spirit Realm since Yasuo killed his brother before the Azakana had a opportunity to attack 1st.Yone won the fight with the Azakana coming back to the phisical realm but with the Azakana embedded in his mask. Yasuo on the other side became an outcast after disobeying orders to protect Elder Souma ( The Only master that knew the wind technique of the blade) Instead Yasuo left Elder Souma to fight the Noxian Invasion of Ionia . When the students came back they found Souma dead killed with a wind technique and since Yasuo was his only pupil that mastered it they put the guilt on him calling him a traitor/murderer. Yasuo being hunted down by his own schoolmates and even his brother made him be a walking "bomb" of negative emotions becoming a easy target for Azakana. The Ideea of the Spirit Blossom event was that people in Ionia could talk to their lost ones(probably wanting to talk with Yone for forgiveness) from the Spirit Realm and Yasuo gets tricked into using a fake spirit blossom and also drugged by the Azakana with that drink( that s why he doesnt see the true nature of the old man). At the end of the fight with the Azakana defeated, Yone now as a Demon Hunter can seal them away if he knows their true name using the Demon Blade you see him shout (Kuro'Sagol) the name of Yasuo s Azakana and just collects him at his belt. A nice touch to the cinematic at the end is the "May the Spirit of Ionia guide you brother" quote from Yone with the Spirit being ofcourse Ahri.Yone knew that he failed to follow Ahri in the spirit realm with his curiosity betraying him going into the Gatekeepers trap( when he steps in the room of darkness) so he wants atleast his brother to be on the right path with the cinematic ending with both Ahri and Yasuo travelling to Bilgewater on the ship PS: Srry for the Big Wall of Text :)

Alright, here's the schpeel. One of the main territories of the LoL universe is Noxus, an empire that's basically "survival of the fittest" incarnate. They invaded Ionia, (based off of Asia) a very mystical/spiritual place where the land is essentially alive. Riven (the girl that fought the executioner guy in the Awaken video) was a Noxian warrior that rose through the ranks and was given a magical blade to wield. She saw many atrocities committed by the Noxians, so she deserted. She then asked for help from a man named Elder Souma to shatter her blade. He was successful, but when the blade shattered it exploded and killed him. Riven fled, and Yasuo (who was assigned to guard Elder Souma) was blamed for his death. *quick detour* Yasuo was the first (known) in several generations to master the wind technique, and Riven was able to use the wind technique. To outsiders on the issue, it looked like Elder Souma was killed using said wind technique, so Yasuo was blamed. *back to main story* Yasuo went on the run, and kept killing those trying to kill him. Eventually, Yone (his older brother) was sent after him, and Yasuo killed him too. "The Path" trailer is about Yone going into the spirit world (the afterlife). When he goes down the dark path he revisits his failures, which attracts a type of demon called an Azakana. This type of demon is attracted to/feeds off of negative emotions before going to the mortal world to consume the host. Yone ended up killing his Azakana, but not before it attached its mask (when they are killed they leave behind masks) to his face. This mask allows him to see the otherwise invisible demons, so when he awoke back in the mortal realm with the Azakana's sword and mask, he decided to hunt for other Azakana. Riven confessed to her "crime" because she blamed herself for Elder Souma's death, and the Noxians took her back to the mainland to await trial/execution (I can't remember which), which is how she ended up in the gladiator pit. Yasuo is seeking atonement for all the people he killed when he was on the run, which is how he ended up at that spirit festival. He then fights that Azakana with Yone and goes to Bilgewater.

Also ya definitely gotta check out Ryze: Call of Power, it's one of my favorite cinematics. Or the tales of runeterra cinematics of all the regions. Tales of runeterra bilgewater actually prominently features miss fortune. Another good one to watch is the Legends of Runeterra: Empires of the Ascended, Shurima Expansion trailer.

I’m going to tell you a little bit about as we fall because you’ll be totally lost trying to understand what’s going on in it. In the cinematic, it features 2 lovers who were fighting in a different location of Ionia, one gets mortally wounded so the other carries him to a giant fountain said to contain great mystical energies in the hopes of saving his life. Instead they awaken what is called a darkin who was sealed at the bottom of the fountain who then “breaks them down” to see what they are made of, the darkin later tries to take over one of their bodies but because of the power of love the two lovers are not erased but end up inhabiting the same body with the darkin known as Varus. In his final form coming out of the water it’s one body but 3 spirits inhabiting it that each spirit can take control of the body if they have more willpower than the rest.

In the timeline I'm pretty sure this takes place before ruination however they are on a boat to bilgewater. So next up they might walk into ruination related characters there. The spirit blossom event was it's own thing, introducing Yone, Yasuo's older brother.

I believe Yone confronted the reality of his death and the mistakes of his life so, by defeating his own demon(s), was able to struck a balance, represented by the two blades - one physical the other spiritual (that he got from the demon) - Now he travel through both worlds defeating the Azakana, the demons that sprout from people's traumas and guilt.

This is why I like Yone. His story is something I really liked. Not to mention I liked him in game as well when I played the game. He looks cool but still has that mature nature him and not just some edgy vibe. It's unfortunate of what happened to him. But now he seeks the answers and potential save many people from those lowly creatures. And it's lores like this that make me like League of Legends.

The first cinematic is the dead older brother being led by the fox spirit to the afterlife, but he got side tracked by a demon. That's how he came back a badass. The second cinematic shows you that the younger brother killed him. At the end, he and the girl sail to Bilgewater. You guys have seen Ruined King trailer a month ago, it shows the two of them at Bilgewater making friends then fight the ruined king.

Hi Guys, well first things first, The first video An Ionian Myth, is a literal myth of Ionia that talks about two warlords that were brothers that fought and of course one dies, that is Yone´s Spirit Blossom skin, and Yasuo´s is the one of the brother that wins the fight, and yes the fox in the cinematic is Ahri, and the wolf head you see that is the wolf of the Kindred duo and also the Lamb appears before the wolf in that moment, the gigantic sculpture that had a snake like body and a fan that's Cassiopeia's Spirit blossom skin, and when you see a mountain that has a shape of someone sleeping well that represents Lillia's Spirit Blossom skin, and those gates that Yone goes through are the gates of Thresh (Spirit Blossom Skin) that detours him and turns him into an Azakana (a Demon) (Side Note: None of this skins are canonic). Then going to Kin of a Stained Blade, is the re-encounter between Yone and Yasuo, they are in the middle of the Spirit Blossom Festival (Side Note: it haven't been one in a lot of time due to the Horror that was the Noxian invasion on Ionia), and Yasuo is fighting against himself since he suffers the fact of being chased for the death of Souma (his former Master) and the assassination of his brother Yone (Side Note: Half Brother, since Yone's mother died and his father them married Yasuo's mother), and the old man he meets is an Azakana (To be precise Yasuo's Azakana that was attracted by Yasuo's grief and doubt of himself) that tries to consume him (like a vampire), and then Yone appears in his astral form (his E in game) and then he goes back to his body to fight the Azakana, the Azakana calls him Hunter since after his dead he turned into an Azakana that hunts Azakana, since when he names the demon he can kill it and when he kills it, it transforms into a mask that he puts in his belt, (Side Note: In the battle you see them using to flashy abilities together is a pun to the fact that if, in game, Yone uses his Ultimate then Yasuo can combo with his since he needs the enemy in the air to use his, and Yone's ultimate puts you in the air) and after that is the link to ruination since he goes to Bilgewater with Ahri (you can recognize her at the end) to join our beloved "Suicide Squad" formed of them with Miss Fortune, Illaoi, Braum and Pyke, to go to Helia (Shadow Isles) to fight Viego. 3:48 My favorite part is this shot where you see the fox that tried to guide Yone looking all sad because it's like he went off the path he was supposed to and now the fox can't save him... It's kinda like that song "The Ballad of Jesse James" by North Country Gentlemen, basically a song about Jesse James' life and he sings about an angel on his shoulder at one point when he's at the part of the song where he starting to kill/rob people the song lyrics are like "And that angel on my shoulder, she ain't spoke to me since then," and then later he mentions the angel comes back to check on him and sings about how as she leaves through the doorway "I could hear that angel cry,"... Idk, I just sort of like that, might use that concept in a story...

This leads up to the Ruination event but is pretty self contained for sure. The trailer for the Ruined King game is the connective part, showing that once Yasuo gets to Bilgewater with Ahri, he joins an expedition to the Shadow Isles to attempt to take down the Ruined King maybe? Hard to say, that spin off game isn't out yet sadly. All that said, I highly recomend watching the Tales from Runeterra videos. They are all self contained, and each one focuses on a different region of the world. It is pretty great to get a general feel of the world and the kind of people across it.

This is leading into the Ruination even because taht scene at the end shows Yasuo and Ahri are sailing to Bilgewater where they will be playable characters in the first standalone single-player League of Legends game: The Ruined King, but the game got delayed so they've fought the Ruined King by this point (and they've presumably lost based on the fact that the Ruined King is still alive and is spreading the Black Mist across Runeterra in the ongoing Sentinels of Light event, COVID delays ruin everything lol). He's not a MAJOR part of the whole thing thankfully despite his crazy levels of popularity. Ironically Riven (white hair in chains girl who fights in the arena in the Awaken cinematic) is arguably a bigger part as she's a Sentinel in Senna's little gang now. Riven was the one who accidentally killed Yasuo's master when she asked for his help in shattering her sword (Yasuo was blamed for not being there to protect him and because the wind technique used to break the blade sent fragments of it into Master Souma, killing him and leading Yasuo to go on the run and eventually killed his own brother in this cinematic) and now she's fighting the Ruined King after Yasuo and his party presumably failed so they'll probably meet again at some point in the future.

Have you guys heard of teamfight tactics (tft)? TFT is a separate game mode of League where you are these cute little legend animals and you assemble different League champions to make the best team and watch them brawl out with other players. Anyway, TFT world also has its own Ruination events and cinematic. The trilogy in chronological order are: Ruin Rising - Reckoning launch cinematic, Rescue Party - animated trailer, and Into Tomorrow - Dawn of Heroes launce cinematic. The sword fight between the two brothers in the rain is because he thought yasuno, the shirtless one killed their master if I'm not mistaken, it was actually Riven without her memories, I might be mistaken but that's how. I remember it from their website which has all the lore

Yasuo and Yone were brother they grew up together but one day the country of Noxius attack the country of Ionia were Yasuo and Yone lived.Yasuo got orderer to stay in his village to protect Souma wich is the Swordmaster of the village wich taught Yasuo and Yone the Art of Sword but Yasuo decided to go on the battlefield to fight Noxus but when he come back they find Souma dead ,killed by WindMagic and the thing is that Yasuo is one of the few who can use this magic so he is accuse of killing Souma and he have to run away from his village but his brother find him just before he leave and fight him .Yone died fighting Yasuo and so Yasuo swear to find the person who killed his master (The girl who kill Souma is Riven ,the girl with a broken blade that you see in the Awaken cinematic,She is a old Noxius General but she deserted and she becale a traitor) After Yone died he wake up in the spirit world were he get attacked by a Azakana wich is a demon who feed on people emotions ,he sucessfuly stole his blade and kill him wich make him ressurect with the Azakana mask on his face gaining the power to see other Azakana he decided to hunt them to find what happen to him.The thing is that you can't normaly kill a Azakana but with the Azakana sword he got he can transform them in mask he wear at his belt.

The thing is that what you see in the spirit world, are not rlly yasuo and yone. They are juste an ionian myth about 2 brothers who fought in the past. We think that the 2 persons, are just reincarnated in yasuo and yond. That's why it is called 'an ionian myth'. Idk if u understood what I just said, but hopefully I learned you something ^^.

After Yone died, his soul awoke in the spirit world and was attacked by an azakana, a demon that feeds on negative emotion before manifesting into the physical world and devouring its host. Yone managed to take the azakana's blade and defeat it. He awoke again in the physical world but now with the azakana's sword and a mask of its face attached to him. Since the mask lets him see other azakana (which are normally invisible outside the spirit world), he now hunts them to figure out what's happening to him.

At this point, you had already watched Awaken, The Climb and The Ruined King, right? If so, that you have already meet Yasuo (the younger brother) before this point.

Theres no way you could have gotten how this ties in with ruination. This came out in summer 2020. This year we got the Ruined King and his story and now we learn that Yasuo and Ahri and couple other champions are together looking for Viego to defeat him. That is how this ties with Ruination. The end was just a teaser. What happens here is the Spirit Blossom skin line depicts champions as Ionian spirit myths. For example in the first clip we see Spirit Blossom Ahri as she guides spirits to the great spirit tree to rest for eternity. Then on the way we see couple more like Cassiopeia trying to lure spirits away from their journey to peace and we see Thresh succeed at that. He lures spirits with things they did when they were alive. There we see Spirit Blossom Yone battle with an Azakana. Azakana are lesser demons that feast on one core emotion of people before jumping to others. Just like Yone's real story Spirit Blossom Yone battles his Azakana and wins. But at the last moment the Azakana attaches to him giving him the ability to tear through realms and journey between physical and spirit realm. So with his newly found powers, Yone starts hunting other Azakana in the psychical realm so that they can't consume more people.

There are misconceptions about the path, but the story actually a legend of a two brother just like Yasuo and Yone. The brothers was given one sword by collector/thresh at this point. To make both of them collide to each other. Until finally the little little brother killed his brother and all the other samurai as you can see in the path also the reason why When the stone yone “said you could have safed them” the story of the path ended wih the brother defeat the demon of his reflection and defeated as the same time because of later on in the afterlife sometimes he can turned into azakana or demon and try to find his little brother afterward (base on the spirit blossom Yone’s lore). Also the last part of the path is indeed yone. This lore can be said as a story of lore from Perennial in the league of legend universe where you can read it also. The reason also why its connected again to ruination or prequel, its because yasuo come to bilgewater with ahri to find something that he can do whil ahri in the same time is trying to find her parent but unfortunately they indeed are going to fight the ruined king themselves….. Edited: Every things that you see in the path when Yone and the fox (ahri) are walking in the afterlife, they are actually a character and they represent something in the afterlife

Also I forgot to mention this. Yasuo is proficient with the wind swordstyle while Yone always proficient with techniques thats why even though Yone can overpower Yasuo but Yasuo can use his wind to kill Yone at anytime.

If u wanna learn something about this ,,demon with lantern,, Thresh, you have to watch the Legends of Rountera cinematic named ,,none Escape,,. Its about 3 minutes cinematic so you can add it to some longer cinematic. You can also react to all of Legens of Rountera cinematics. They are short and plot is really catchy. But ,,none Escape,, is one of the best cinematic so far. (Im sorry for my English its not my main language and im still learning). Have a great day/night.

I don't think these cinematics are related to ruination, maybe they're but i'm not sure, for me it shows the quite interesting relation they have with each other as brothers, there's also a comment that explains really well the story between these two and how they got into that situation.

If you guys ever have a chance check out the riot website. The stories are all there and might help fill in the blanks. Some are better written than others but they're all good. Their vids only cover small slices of what's happening so sometimes the weight of what's happening is lost in their other vids unless you read about it. Hopefully they make a lot more videos. I can't wait for their show Arcane to air on Netflix.

Actually, this was happened before ruination. This is the one of the largest event before ruination. You know how it tied out to ruination? it's when Ahri and Yasuo sailed to Bildgewater? and the cinematic Ruined King? the cinematic that you said that kinda look like Suicide Squad, the last part of it was with Ahri and Yasuo together with Captain Fortune, Braum, Illaoi and Pyke. they sailed to face The Ruined King. in a separate adventure game that Riot been working on, entitled The Ruined King. It was assumed that Yone was the one in the 1st cinematic. But they're different person. That's what happened to Yone's afterlife, and eventually he overcome it and in the end, remember one of his katana broke when he is fighting with the demon inside him? he then stole the demons sword and used it against the demon. In that way he sealed the demon and wore it, that's the time he got out of the spirit realm and start to seal all the demons he encounter.

this links in with the ruination as ahri and yasuo are going to bilgewater which links in with the ruined king game where these two characters with allot of other league characters will take on the ruination and viego the ruined king himself
