i love that line about Aatrox being not a beast, since he feels no pity. It's such a paradox and ironic and hurtful at the same time. Brings that EDGE of consciousness of Aatrox reflecting upon himself. Such an unimaginable willpower, yet shattered thousands of times through eternity, shattered and still holding itself together, somehow

Great reaction Little side notes to aatrox voice lines. The reason he often yells is because he was trapped in this empty prison, where he was isolated so long. That never anyone replied to him, so he started screaming in hope he might scream loud enough that his voice might get heard at any point. And he often talk in third person about himself, or the flesh. Because he feels like he already died when he lost his glories status as a god warrior and got trapped. So he feels so disconnected from himself, it’s almost like he’s trying to convince himself he is some else just overlooking this creature that’s called aatrox, since he can’t stand the shame of his downfall. And he can’t take the thought, that he accually could have fallen so deep. Also don’t forget that even if aatrox builds a pile of corpses which he forms to look like his old body. Or as close as he gets with it. His conciseness is still within the sword, so if he sais move flesh move. He is accually commading the flesh made body like a vehicle or tool while still being captured inside the sword. With the only difference of having his senses like seeing hearing and feeling the outside world through the flesh he controls.

Actually the consciousness gets transported into the body, in The Cage it is explained that Aatrox leaves his sword and casts the hosts consciousness into it when he takes over a body. And once the body is destroyed he gets traped in the sword again.

When you realize that the only reason why Aatrox screams so much is because he is terrified of not being heard, the only reason he kills is out of pure despair and in search of the slightest grim of hope that maybe someone can destroy him and his blade, and when you realize that the reason why he has so many quotes in the 3rd person is because he's afraid of being alone... such a sad character, From The strongest Hero That has been born, to a Betrayed Madman who has lost hope even in death, carried now only by his former pride...Also the thing about the “Fight or be forgotten” line is… Old Aatrox told this to his enemies. New Aatrox tells this to himself. If he stop fighting, he reverts into prison… In the dark, hungry, unable to breath, unable to scream… Just a sword, buried and… Forgotten.

Scary Fact: Aatrox is the only Darkin to Slay a God, specifically Pantheon the Aspect of War!

He’s so poetic 🥰🥰🥰 Also his whole not dying thing is quite accurate to his gameplay as he heals when he deals damage and he does alot of AoE damage. There are isn’t much that can come close to the satisfaction of the entire enemy team piling up on you in desperation to kill you as they watch helplessly as your health bar jumps from a sliver to half over and over.

Honestly if you want to actually feel Aatrox´s pain and now how INSANE is the actual pain of the Darkins as a whole, hear Aatrox talking to the other Darkins in the LoL cardgame that is LoR (Legends of Runeterra), since there is a special one that is his interactions with Joraal the Darkin Aegis which shows you how much he cares of some of the other Darkins and how much he wants to end this curse called "life", and also how much the Void has traumatized the great warriors that the Darkins once been. Also that "trickster" that Aatrox screams to is Zoe the current aspect of Twilight, and Aatrox thinks it was her that gave the mortals the way to bind him to the blade, but it was the another called Myisha that was the aspect before Zoe.

I greatly appreciate League's villains (self proclaimed or otherwise). Their unique twists of morality, or absence thereof, brings a serene sense of comprehension to them. I don't agree with the idea of slaughter, but I can see why Aatrox pursues it. Same goes for Camille, Renata Glasc, Mordekaiser, Swain, and others too. Being able to see their justification without it being acceptable is hard to pin down with villains (see the modern heavy use of reluctant villains) but League, for me, nails it.

​@@Nightwalk444how can you not want a justification? Do you enjoy badly written villains?. Every GOOD villain needs a compelling reason/justification, No matter how twisted. People do things for a reason, good or bad. A well written villain story should speak to their reasons and make a normal person relate to their twisted goals. It makes a villain more relatable which makes for stronger characters. Don't let crappy writers make you think villains are not supposed to have justification and reasons.

@@typhon1861 I'm not talking about this in a "we're writing a story" sense. Reason and justification are different. Latter implies you have morals/that they work the same way as everyone else's. Reason is the why you did something, Justification is whatever mental gymnastics you spin to tell yourself "that guy deserved it, I shouldn't feel guilty"

The best part is that both current pantheon and Aatrox relate to each other as well. Current Pantheon is Atrius and he wants to spit at the gods just as Aatrox wants to. But thats the only thing that they relate too, they both are engaging this with a different perspective.

Love the video, especially the voice line's video by Just Another Nobody. Their voice line videos are amazing. I would suggest using them in regards to these lore videos, if they have one for that champion. It really adds a lot. Also, watch 'em to the end. They usually have fun little joke voice lines!

The part that got to me, was in his lore story when he was comparing his situation to being, a drowning man pushing others down to get air. Aatrox 'was' a hero, he was a noble man who did the right thing, fighting monsters to keep people safe, but despite being immortal, he was 'harmed' by the void, mentally. All the ascended who tried to protect the world were. The gods 'could' have tried to help the Ascended, but seemingly, they were 'scared'. So instead, they took a disturbed man in mental anguish, and turned him into a monster.

You should really do a reaction on Nafiri. They are the new champion that just got released and there reveal trailer and lore are amazing. The short story also has some similarities to the ones you just heard.

Aatrox is the character with the most badass lines i've heard, SPECIALLY: "I'm not your enemy, i am THE ENEMY". I NEED a movie of the aftermath of the icathian wars and the descend into madness of the darkins. A movie with Aatrox as its antagonist. Ps. one thing i LOVE about his character is the poetic lyric as he speaks, is so beautiful and the voice actor is AMAZING. U can feel the pain and loathe in his voice.

Aatrox's first encounter voice line with Zoe is the best... I mean it so very funny 😂

A lot of interesting things here. Obviously the Ascended fighting the void and then coming back changed is a metaphor for Trauma that veterans of war suffer from. Aatrox voice over is one of the best ones they made in my opinion. The 2 main emotions that are portrayed are sadness and anger. Sadness because Aatrox doesn't even like what he is doing. He looks back upon being an ascended and becomes deeply depressed by what he has become. But he needs to fuel himself by being angry and screaming to force himself to move forwards. To carry out this horrific task of having to end existence. Aatrox also says his own name a lot I think for the same reason why people will often say their own name to motivate themselves.

Aatrox and all of the darkin are technically demi god warriors with PTSD and since he and his fellow darkin are imprisoned in the weapon they once wield as ascended. The darkin are in a state of a Fate worse than death, they cannot die nor are they truly alive. Who wouldn't be angry. BTW, the Trickster he is referring to Zoe.

Nah the trickster he is referring to is the aspect of change/twilight itself, it's just that Zoe is the current host for the aspect, in fact we even see the previous aspect host in the twilight of the gods story.

@@thaumielessa5051 If you are interested the previous "Aspect of Twilight" was named Myisha, Riot is pretty iffy about confirming if she is the previous host or just Zoe playing people there but at least one Rioter confirmed that she is the previous host for the aspect of twilight. Plus iirc Zoe couldn't have been active at that time because after becoming a Aspect she left for other dimensions and only came back 'recently' so it had to be her predecessor. Myisha is described as such in Twilight of the Gods. "Myisha stood in the doorway (...) Her frame was slight, fragile even, yet Ta’anari sensed she possessed depths not even he had fully grasped. Gold-blonde hair, like the men found in the cold north, spilled around her shoulders. Her features were youthful, but her eyes, one rich blue, the other twilight’s purple, held wisdom beyond her years. She wore thin silks, colorful and entirely unsuited to the desert, tied at the waist with a thin rope, from which hung a single golden key. A vivid pink scarf coiled around her neck, and she twisted its tasseled ends through her fingertips." There is also the case to say that the Darkins simply don't see a difference between Zoe and Myisha as Naafiri thanks "Myisha" when she sees Zoe in game, but once again she could have been thanking the aspect, just like Aatrox always talked to "Pantheon" despite the aspects real name being simply "The Warrior".

Where you trapped in the gardening section...? My two favorite lines of Aatrox. Cut. Not in the video. Quite sad. Also notable mention: Varus. V. A. R. U. S. Varus. Your name should have an A, and then another A, Varus. There was a memo, Varus. THERE WAS A MEMO.

Aatrox’s story is just truly sad. A once beloved champion and soldier of Shurima. A general in the Ascended Host. The sword and shield that stood between mankind and the Void. Now degraded to this mutilated and traumatized form. He desperately wants to return to the way he was, but he can’t. A fraction of that noble warrior that protected Shurima is still there, wanting to end the torment and monstrosity he’s become. You can easily understand in his lines that he understands the pain he brings and wants it to go away, but only through his death. Unlike other Darkin that embrace what they’ve become, Aatrox seems to be the only one that wants it all to end. Aatroxs pain is a great lesson on the curse of immortality. If you can’t die, what value does life have? If life has no meaning, then everything and everyone is meaningless.

The reason so many people request Aatrox after Pantheon is a bit more nuanced than even they know. It’s not JUST because Aatrox killed Pantheon and left only Atreus, it is because both Aatrox and Atreus suffered the same faith. Both sought to be honoured by the Gods and were betrayed. Atreus was trapped by Pantheon and Aatrox, left to the void whispers, was trapped by Zoe. After they defeated Icathia why didn’t the Aspects come down to help the God warriors? Why did they leave them to be tainted by the whispers? Why didn’t the celestials help? They were just abandoned and cast aside and once they became Darkin then the Celestials and Aspects came to deal with them. Both Aatrox and Atreus are very different from other Darkin and Aspects. Neither of them want to BE a Darkin or an Aspect. They both want to be freed from these shackles. They both want to kills the Aspects. Atreus may not want death like Aatrox does, but Atreus isn’t suffering a disembodied form like Aatrox is. Aatrox also doesn’t want to kill other Darkin because he knows they suffer the same faith he does. Atreus doesn’t know or realise this, because he was not there when the Darkin became what they became. Aatrox also doesn’t know that Atreus is suffering the same faith he is (Atreus cannot die). I think it’d be very interesting if/when Atreus and Aatrox realise how similar they both are and what could possibly come from that information.

Aatrox's short story The Cage is something that embodies the title (and some subject matter) of a classic: I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream

Although you got the lore accurate version, the world ender, this video completely missed out on his humour. He basically roasts every single champion he meets in game, and their unique interactions are quite funny.
