Follow along as Chris (owner and head guru at LiteAF) and I check out some fall color in the Shenandoahs. Lots of laughs, a few waterfalls, and some damn good views. Thanks for watching!

You know you are at President Hoover Summer camp. It is above the mosquito line and it was built where the Rapidan, Mill Prong, and Laurel Prong are so the President could fish. There are many more interesting historical cabins there. And I am 73 and just bought one of your packs on the recommendation of my son who has one. I have hiked the AT twice (Thru 07 Section 08-21). I climbed “K” this past July but your pack arrived after my hike. So I have only used it on one overnight but will start with my son in February the first few days of his Thru! So thanks for the pack! I’m looking forward to many years of more comfortable hiking in the years to come! Happy hiking!

Wow. I had no idea, although I was planning to look up the history of the camp this weekend. That's very interesting. As far as the LiteAF packs are concerned, I'm really just lucky enough to hike with Chris's packs and drink his coffee, so I'll let him respond to that comment. Take care and thanks again for the info.

Dude! you are the man. I just took my pack out for a walk in the rain. I did it for no other reason than to see what its like. Oddly I have virtually never hiked in the rain. I hike the sierras and still for years I've just gotten crazy lucky. Last year was my first rain and if it wasn't while I was at the top of Bishop pass it would have hardly counted. So I went out and discovered wet out for the first time (I live in San Diego so not many chances). First time not wearing gortex shoes. It was a badass storm including a bit of hail and a bunch of wind. The star of the show were my bread bags! Didn't start off with them but when my hands started to freeze (I use poles) out came the bags and they were perfect. Your still gonna get soaked but my hands were warm and comfy even still. Didn't try em on my feat....soaked shoes weren't even too bad. I highly recommend such a hike to test what works and what needs work. The bags and my tyvek groundsheet/rain skirt were stars. Cheers buddy thanks for the tip.

Camped there October 19th! That cabin can be rented for $35 for the night. Great spring water there two! You had better leaf color, but we had fewer people! We camped up behind the shelter but enjoyed the sunset on that porch until a hiker came in that rented the cabin. Thanks for the video.

Yea. I've been wanting to rent one of those cabins for a couple of years. Definitely going to do that this winter, hopefully in the snow.

Whoa, strange coincidence. I was also planning on going to Dolly Sods that weekend and ended up in Shenandoah instead (a bit South of you guys). The leaves and the weather were phenomenal. I was content to avoid the cold and wet in the forecast for Dolly Sods.

Great video as always. As a newer hiker, I am confused why there is sooo much trash. Thank you so much for caring and doing what you do. I take an extra trash bag with me when I hike to pick up trash too. I’m most confused by the campers that try to bury their aluminum beer cans…ugg.

Yea. It's crazy how mjch trash is out there, and it increases exponentially as you enter areas frequented by more people, such as popular day hikes. Thanks so much for bekng pfoactive, and helping clean up....👍👍👍

I'd like to respond with one of the only good things about California. The absolute lack of trash on our trails. I'm speaking more about the sierras than any place were you may car camp. I've been hiking for years now, I take an extra bag too....I just never use it. Thank you to everyone who doesn't trash that perfect place. The only thing I ever see is maybe a gum or bar wrapper that probably blew away. It's one of my favorite things. Find places that are harder to get to. The lazy wont take the time or effort to go there.

Your back!!!🤘 That’s great that Chris from Lite af can find some time to get out and enjoy hiking that loop with you. I’ve got a bear bag and two packs from him so far. I love them all! Keep the videos coming. And I would love to see a review those new packs and that new material. I love how you never leave a piece of trash behind.🙂 Thanks for sharing your adventure with us.

@@hrrrrrrr2084I will certainly continue to make hiking content. I also plan to include more of what the ultralight mindset involves and how it has changed the way I live. For me, living with an ultralight mindset means intentionally living with LESS so you can do MORE. I'll be adding content on minimalism, fitness, saving for adventure funds, daily routines, etc. Sound good?
