It is a proud moment for Tibet and Tibetans that our honorable Sikyong Penpa Tsering La is a well-educated, humble, honest, and courageous man. Thank you OxfordUnion for presenting such a platform to our Sikyong to speak about Tibet and Tibetans. We have been suffering under the aggression of the PRC for generations to generations during the last 60 years. However, under the guidance of HH The Great 14th Dalai Lama, we are not fighting for Independence but, for the Middle Way approach. May Peace prevail on earth.

i wonder what the influence by the Chinese/Indian (asian/european) populations via the overland spice and silk routes had on the Tibetan peoples. Yes I recognize Tibetans rights however, realistically, in full recognition of 1.5 billion Chinese living in the eastern part of their country and relying on services and food stuffs from across the country, including but not limited to Tibet (inner Mongolia, etc), I would be very careful as to weigh the benefit of the 7 million Tibetans vs the 1.5 billion Chinese (20% of world's population). I like your presentation though and it certainly gives me "food" for thought.

The problem is, back in the day, to be considered part of a territory was to pay tribute to the emperor of that territory. Today, you’re talking about citizenship for every individual, taxes for the private citizen and election / voter rights etc. The idea of nationhood is drastically different from the past, so the stakes are much higher.

Some of points he highlighted so good ..but I felt shorts and precision on few others points though .....Tibet support Groups / organizations before and today's number , explaining facts on how some of the countries today are actually Victims by external forces since he already called out the names of the victims countries which is absolutely necessary yes but making sure why and how they are victims with Illustrations also to make sure it don't hurt the people of these mentioned victim countries ... and explaining facts how they are victims by external forces are very important in my opinion... But over all i think Sikyong did quite well though .... Thank you All Suppprters ... Sorry if i offended anyone It's just my observation and what I felt .....that's all ... Bhoe Gyalo

The same Britain sheds tears over Tibet, where their Younghusband-led army massacred the Tibetans. He led a force from India in order to conquer Tibet to counter Russia in the early 1900s.
