Best era of endurance racing. Unfortunately not enough people watched due to the long races, casual fans were turned off. Endurance racing is for hardcore motorsport fans. The racing was great, but it was too expensive for the manufacturers that didn't get enough publicity. Those prototypes could be used elsewhere though. An LMP short race series would be great to way, not just for us hardcore fans, but for casual fans and would give manufacturers a reason to develop for endurance racing too. The HY LMP1 era is a sad loss, but something will take it's place.

Hypercar is back and evolved. Albeit slower, but cost of entry is lower for manufacturers so we are now seeing the likes of Glickenhaus and Bykolles competing, great stuff.

I have tears in my eyes because 1. I completely missed everything because i was too focused on F1 and have missed sooo much action. I regret this 2. I love the video

Thank you! Yes these were great years, but hopefully Hypercars/LMDh cars will bring back some great racing again.

Great vid. This short period of time will last for a long time in memories. WEC is evolving in a good way, unlike f1....

This era will soon be as iconic as Group C, because from 2020 and onwards the cars will be a lot slower, and they won't be "Prototypes" they will be "Hypercars".

LMH and LMdH, the good thing is we going to see plenty manufacturers involved and some good privateers like Glickenhaus, and all are going to race in WEC and IMSA.

This period of LMP1 racing will be looked upon like the Group B days of rallying one day. The pinnacle of a motorsport category.

These are always great. Loved the racing in these years too, incredible.

Volkswagon is the reason Audi and Porsche are not allowed to run in LMP1 anymore because of the cheating on emissions testing, violating FIA rules for owners of Factory teams. And Toyota wants to leave because it costs a lot of money to run an LMP1 car, especially in Hybrid form. most teams have decided F1 is doing more with hybrids than LMP1 does and have left it to F1 to settle the hybrids out and gather data.

This era was amazing, on par with group c and GT1 best years, i also loved the Rebellions, BR1, Bykolles & Ginettas, and all the closed cockpit lmp2!
