Not as easy as it looks I have no doubt. Jesus Christ, these tall, tall men are dancing en pointe. Brilliant, funny and truly magnificent in its own way. Never laughed so much in yonks. Congratters my darlins, you are the best.

it is just Le Grand Pas de Quatre and was made as a showpiece for Taglioni ,Cerrito, Grahn and Grisi and shown by command performance for Queen Victoria in July 1845. Performed, i believe, no more than 4 or 5 times but remained a legend because this was the only time these great ballet divas danced together. By the time the the last of this quartet, Cerrito, died at 92 in 1910 the coreography like many ballets of the romantic era was completely forgotten. This is a reconstructed version

Saw them perform in Edmonton many long years ago. The program which cited their presumably Russian names was just as funny as their performance. Each dancer had a brief bio attached to their name. My favourite was 'Youbetyabootskaya'. What a gal! What a name! And, I'm disappointed to add that she has very likely left the troupe.She will be missed!

In my career, I did this ballet, this version is really great.... Even in its "serious" form, there is some humor to it if you understand the story behind the ballet.
