It really is a tragic double edged sword, admiring these priceless, magnificent jewels... while there is no denying their beauty and the exceptional skill required to create them, one simply cannot forget that for hundreds of years, millions of exploited and starving people slaved away in absolute squallor and died tragic deaths, just so that a select few people could swish around all day, every day, surrounded by an obscene display of wealth and dripping in a decadant collection of priceless jewels (that could have fed, clothed, sheltered and educated thousands of people, for years!

Tsetsi This Patiala necklace belonged to a maharajah family. They had a chest full of diamonds and commissioned Cartier to make the necklace. It was documented in history that it indeed existed and was passed on to the next generations. But where it is now no one knows. I hope I gave you the gist of the video at least.

Shameless extravaganza. These jewels are made of the blood and sweat of people, who paid taxes for their betterment. These unscrupulous people were not fit to administer.
