Thanks for the hard work put into this guide and creating the loot filter! Had a blast with the Falconer on launch and excited to finally play a decently strong mage playstyle. Even though I love the power fantasy of mages, D4's sorc is soooo weak and poe gets way too grindy by endgame. Looking forward to sorc's new buffs. Much appreciated

No clue but, builds similar to this were able to push ~1k corruption in 1.0 so given how this build is just tankier now, it should go as far and further.

Loving the build. Been following it , at lvl 80 so far. Everything going smooth. .. question though, I noticed this dialogue is heavily focused on building mana to get tankier but nothing about fire pen, intelligence etc. Where exactly do I increase my damage output? Does +mana ultimately give me more DPS? I am probably missing something.

We do fit in int on the few pieces we can but mana takes a bigger priority as the longer you stay above 400 mana the higher your overall crit chance is. The downtime of having to cast focus is effectively also a dps loss meaning the longer you can spam meteor the less downtime you end up having. With this, we also end up getting a bit of cast speed from twistd heart eventually, craterborn on the meteor tree which comes with extra levels & the cast speed from arcane ascendance allowing us to utilize said mana faster.

Hey, thx a lot for your work, i will follow your build in MG. Would be nice if you could add some end game gear to focus on. Like, do we switch to 0lp Red Ring? 1LP Wrongwrap?

I never plan my builds out ahead of time as it ruins the fun of me exploring the build myself. It also allows for the community to come together and make sugjestions that I woudve otherwise glossed over or most likely have added into an update making looking ahead not really worth it. With that said, youd 100% go red rings and you most likely would swap to a 2lp unstable core. We are also looking at maybe running sundials as well but we shall see.

Appreciate the guide so much! I haven't played a meteor build since D2 sorc when I was a kid, so can't wait to give this a go. A question on the loot filter, is it set up to show base and stat combinations that would be good to put on the market?

Sorry for the late reply, with how hectic cycle start is I pretty much streamed for 17 hours, slept 5, woke up to stream, and then went to bed again. This filter is meant to be good for leveling and its going to show you decent items to pick up and use / craft into better items. Some of this I guess will be decent gear to sell but, past days 1-2 most people will only want to buy Exalted Items. This filter doesn't filter Exalted items at all and it iwll jsut show all of them menaing you can look through what drops to see if anything looks decent to sell. Im pretty much an ssf player and all my content will be suifed for ssf which doesnt mean MG cant follow my content, I just dont take in consideration the selling gear/econ side of builds.

What about using the free spell after teleport combined with meteor mana refund? Seems like this might make focus unnecessary?

Im not really too big of a fan of it due to the 6 extra seconds of cd it adds. No matter what, youd still need focus for bosses until lategame as a ~1k mana pool wount be enough.

So basically like mana stacking in PoE, which i have done so I'm interested in trying it on LE before the boat league drops!

I was going to start at Lich, but this seems too fun not to start with 😄

No, this build is completly fine and great, I was just testing something weve been debating for days at this point with shield bash and forge knight. There is an update to meteor sorc coming out today to make it even tankier. Due to me only having ~1 week to play LE this seaosn due to the PoE season coming up soon, I do have to cut my time with builds shorter if I want to try out everything im itnerested for this season sadly. With that said, this build is great and wodnerful and its straight up my #2 most favorite builds ive ever played in LE behind falconer.

Thank you for a great build and your efforts. One question: I used your loot filter and getting two handed weapon drops (not staff - swords, axes, etc). Is this right? I’m new to the game. Thank you.

If you mean exalted items, this filter doesnt filter any exalted items. You never know what you will find and I leave that as a choice for others to decide which ones to pick up and which ones to not. My endgame Allie fitler is a dedicated exalted filter which id recommend once you get to monos.

Maybe I missed it. But do you get Lightning Aegis somewhere in the build? 25% reduced damage seems like a must take...

Lightning Aegis isint really that good due to how inconsistent it is. Once you push past a few hundred corruption, its uptime gets pretty low unless you can spam it. Its based off of your life so in our case any hit ~260 or so will just cause it to fall off which would be fairly often. Given it can only really be generated through Static Orb and Lightning blast at a decent rate its not really worth worrying about in my opinion.

I'm playing here and there where work allows, at level 80 currently and this build is very very good. Can be a bit clunky on the mana, but with endgame gearing it should be smooth. I just love how a ton of players are complaining about the ward on bosses and I'm like... what ward? Nuking those blue bars out of existence!

Im glad you are having fun! I will say, while I dont midn the boss dr changes, with how slow the ward decays on its own, some bosses, especially those with tiny hitboxes, do feel a bit annoying due to the tendancy of meteor to hit. I havent had any issues on mono bosses but some echo bosses, such as the act 9 leader that jumps around and is tiny is a tad annoying to find.

Hi. New to this game, started like a few days ago.But have poe and d4 exp. I tried torment warlock and it was great. I know it`s nerfed a little bit this patch, so now i don`t know if i should try this one or stick with torment warlok? What build is easier for player with little expirience and is more smooth to progress? Great video anyway!

I would say they are probably the same given that they both aim to stack 1 stat. This build has a bit more of an involved playstyle compared to torment as it is just a 1 button build but both are fairly easy. Sure the nerfs suck for torment but it already was very tanky and did a lot of dps so its more of a readjustment than anything else. I'd honestly just pick whichever one seemed more fun to you.

They are honestly very close to eachother and its so opinionated that its easier to say its just preferance. I personally think meteor has slightly better clear but its close between the 2.

My estimate is ~800-900 or so and maybe 1k-1.2k if you really push it. The ward nerfs are honestly hitting ward builds a lot harder than we expected but given it should sitll get near 1k, id say its acceptable.

I don't get it, what stat do we stack ?

What levels of Corruption can this build reach? it looks a lot more fun than the Glacier Sorc being pushed on maxroll. I just want something I can farm items on high corruption with

With everything, you can push ~600-800 corruption or so. Unfortunately, the ward nerfs are bigger than expected, and with us topping out at ~10k ward, it's the best one can do. If it wernt for the ward nerfs, it would most likely push to 1.5k or so due to it being able to generate 20k+ ward, but it is what it is.

i will be waiting at the station, until the allie-sorc-party-train departs

Really coold guide! However I wonder if Meteor will actually feel good while clearing. Seems very inconsistent where meteors land and if a meteor doesnt oneshot trash this will feel pretty bad :/ I'll have to see gameplay of the final build but I am excited :D

It very much will have good clear and it shouldnt feel bad at all. Once we get the 1.1 changes and especially Archmage, you will have so much more mana that you can just throw meteors everywhere and not worry about going oom. Meteor always felt great to play, it just struggled with mana

So static orb doesn’t help for single target? And no crit multi?

I'm kinda 50/50 on Static orb, weve tried it a bunch and its shown promise but it needs a higher mana level to be useful due to how well it scales. I have some tech for it with a traversal skills reduce cd experimental belt mod + focus to allow us to spam more but it need smore testing. I think it WILL eventually be added in for single target, the quesiton is when/how which needs more time.

Thank You for all the work you put in to provide this build and planner. Unfortunately the inclusion of Arcane Ascendance means that the build will be a pass for me. In the past I have played both Lightning Blast and Static Orb builds that both utilized this skill and I really grew to hate it. I have even gone so far as to ask the dev team on discord to remove the skill altogether, skills that root a player to the ground in order to use them, feel terrible to play and are just plain poor design choices. You're turnaround on this build is remarkable and I hope you have a great season.😊

Well, we actually might completly be skipping arcane ascendance for static orb as a way to do more single target dps. We tested it a bit on stream today and at my gear level, my dps that id expect someone to have in mid earl ymonos and it did a smuch dps as meteor. Since Static Orb can literally only get better due to it scaling off of mana meaning that 1k+ mana you most likely will fully swap to it for st dps.

If I didn't already start mage last cycle this would definitely be my start this cycle, but I think with the changes and the promising power of Erasing Strike, I'll be going for Void Knight to start.

I switched to the sorc static glacier meteor build it is VASTLY better

2 questions: 1) is this build SSF viable/recommendable? 2) why is meteor superior to glacier or static orb as a main skill in the endgame?

Yep, this build is SSF viable, I will pretty much always only play CoF so if you see one mof my builds you know you can replicate it anywhere. Its why I dont like MG because an MG build cant necissairly be copied to CoF. As for why meteor, static will never be a good clear skill due to the way its cost will always scale and glacier is just weaker than meteor for clearing. We will most likely add in static orb as a tech for more single target dps though at higher mana levels and its something im currenntly looking into.

Kinda sad the mastery caps at 100 mana cost (50 x 2)

This has no real problems with bosses and I melt everything very quickly. Harbingers do seem to take a while but the general consensus has been that harbingers are health sponges. I agree with this given I can kill a monolith boss 4-5 times faster than a harbi and given my mono bosses are fast, I doubt its my dps being an issue. In terms of tankiness, while this will allow you to ignore most mechanics, you will still need to dodge the super big/1 shot attacks as it is not tanky enough to straight up ignore literally all attacks. Given that & the playstyle of this build, outside of the slight visual clarity issues with meteor spam, its not bad.

Okay wait but like, is mana good stat? Hopefully you can clear that up for me.

You can get ailment removal on your belt if you feel like it is somethign worth investing into. 2 LP Harbinger is actually very common so you can eventually get both mana regen & ailment or, you can just drop a little bit of mana regen on your belt which isint the end of the world and just get 1lp with ailment on it.

@@Alliee Thanks. I noticed that the EHP of your character is very high. 24.8k average. Is that correct or just a visual bug on the build planner?

I just realized the link for your starter loot filter for this build is missing in the written guide. There is a recommendation for using your 1.0 endgame lootfilter with the link to the correct video below it, but you have a section referencing the first loot filter but there's no link to be found. Would love to have it, if you have made one :) Edit: Nvm sorry! I just realized you wrote that the lootfilter will be out after the guide came out because of all the time you have spent making it. Thank you in advance! :D

Yep, the leveling guide is with meteor to 25 or so but you can go to monoliths with glacier if you wish to.

It's a fun build, but finding all that mana gear has been tough. hitting empowered monos and i only have about 900 mana, and that's with mana on every piece, tho not always purple. which is causing a good bit of death due to weakened defenses and the damage is just okay. miss my falconer :(

Well, 900 mana is higher than what I had, I got to empowered with ~750 or so. I did just put out another video 5 minutes ago on how to make the build even tankier as we discovered some nice tech the past few days.

I find it interesting that all of us here agree that mana stacking meteor is probably the top sorc build, but everybody seems to talk about icy veins' glacial cascade build as being THE sorc build this patch.

Its honestly a mixed bag. Both builds are just as good as eachother as they well.. are the same thing given how close the scaling is on the 2 skills and hw they play the same. Its mostly just an opinionated discussion where some people will feel better about 1 or the other. To me they are the same with me favoring meteor's clear a bit more. Glacier might be a bit better where you are reaaaaly trying to push an extra 50-100 corruption out of the build due to it being able to chill but, meteor can also get chill/slow on hit on a weapon to compensate.

@@Alliee great answer, I was quite excited to start using your meteor build but I actually get most of my dopamine from destroying stuff while leveling (until emp monos) so pushing corruption isn't really my thing; personally I sort of tend towards glacier simply because it's cleaner on screen and has inbuilt freezing, but something about the builds this league keeps me from starting - they don't feel fast/satisfying enough. Not sure. We'll see. Thanks for the INSANE written build btw! Top quality stuff.

If you mean a pure black hole build, sadly not. Originally it was going to be included into this build but it was dropped due to it not being strong enough.

every goddamn last epoch video I see makes me think everyone and their dog are gonna play sorc in 1.1 and thats the the entire season in a nutshell and its killing my excitement... why oh why have they buffed it so much and is there any reason to be excited about the other classes I wonder

Well, mage is a fan ffavorite and sorc + spellbreaker have been bad for a long time. It makes sense that everyone is super excited about it now that its good. Theres plenty of other reaaaaly strong builds to play and its not like sorc is the only option. I'm personally playing it because of that fact, that its been bad for so long.

Tyvm, if you could do a Maxroll style guide pour the gear, it would be perfect. You know with starting gear -> advanced gear -> end game gear -> giga bis gear. Would be really helpful for MG!

@@bogdanlazy1997 nope, not really - it's 10 skill points investment just for 20% damage reduction which is taken from mana instead of life - and your life is low as fuck, ward generation also is crap even with so many points invested into it - this build looks like some mid game / low corruption endgame only (at least without some sick, impossible to get without hardcore grind gear)

Its actually just as tanky as my falconer guide if not a bit tanker to begin with. This build has ~11k stable ward with a midgame setup along with a near permanent 25% less damage taken modifier form both sphere and the harbinger belt. We arent taking the MoM points for anything else but more mana. I really don't know where you are getting that the ward generation on this isint good but this has some of the best ward gen you could ask for. This exact build was able to speed farm ~1k corruption in 1.0 and with all of the tankiness buffs this season it can only go higher.

@@Alliee sensei, teach me to keep 10k on midgame gear. Im lvl 91 with decent gear, 1.5life, 1.1mana with t5 experimental boots, strands, heart and shackles (200% coldres) and I have 1700, that boosts to 3-5k in echos, and any pack shreds through these 5k easily. Stand for a few seconds and two dogs will eat you no problem. Starting to also feel lack of damage in certain echos at 200 corruption, tankier enemies dont die after 3-5 casts of meteor
