My functional MD in South Carolina prescribed 4.5 mg of naltrexone to prevent breast cancer recurrence. A side benefit was it immediately relieved my chronic low back pain and knee arthritis pain. I had no idea it would do this. I am also on an organic mostly vegan diet so perhaps that helped in conjunction with it. I’ve only taken it a month now And I’m so thankful for this medicine. I never dreamed I would be pain-free until I got to heaven. I’m in my late 60s and feel better than I have in 40 years.

Hello! 👋 My name is Amenia. I live in Port Orchard, WA. I am elated that I have come across your video that is the most fluid explanation of LDN. My PCP just prescribed this and is due arrive any day now. I have my reservations about it as I've seen no good results for my Fibromyalgia, Arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis in more than 10 years. I just wanted to say thank you for posting this video! I am now subscribed to your channel and look forward to gaining more information and knowledge about you and your practice.

Hi Amelia! We are neighbors as the crow flies! I live on an island just north of you. :) Welcome to my channel and thanks for subscribing. I want to remind you that LDN is a long game. Don't expect immediate results. Give it at least 6 months. And don't ever give up! Just because you haven't found relief yet, that doesn't mean it's not possible. 💪🙏

Hello Dr. Lipscomb. Thank you for this wonderful video. I have started prescribing LDN for a few of my patients. I'm new to this medication and thrilled with the research/information for LDN. However, being new to the clinical approach I am curious if it's necessary to increase to 4.5mg if the patient is responding well at the 1.5mg? Do you recommend titrating up to 4.5mg or leave the patient at 1.5mg? Thank you for your advice. Brooke

I would love to see more research studies on the benefits of LDN, for sure. My most recent case study is a woman who's antibodies for Hashimoto's thyroiditis have dropped by 2/3rds in the the 8 months she has been on LDN. Would it be worth weaning off opioids to start it? Ive been on them nearly 15 years and use mostly long acting meds. I figure if i need to try it should be before I need an increase again. I turn 40 this year so need to deal with the long haul. I have hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome with intractable joint pain and autonomic dysfunction.

Dr. Brandy, Thank you for the very informative video. Are there withdrawal symptoms with LDN?About how long do your patients stay on it before they can stop it?I have read about it and it seems that people are on it for years but nobody talks about stopping. That concerns me. Thank you so much

Hi Ck, Thanks for watching! I haven't seen any withdrawal symptoms with LDN, but this is typically an affordable long-term therapy. It's aiding the immune system in a major way. Think of it more like a super-powered supplement. Would you be concerned about how long you were taking Curcumin? No. It's a supplement that many people take for years and years. I definitely consider this to be like your Vit D or fish oil or anything you take to supplement your health - long term consumption provides the most benefit for life long health. :)

Hello Dr, i started on LDN at 1.25 for fibromyalgia anout 2 months ago and have worked up to 3.5mg so far but i noticed that about an hour after taking it, i actually have MORE pain..lower doses did nothing to help my pain so im pretty sure i need to keep going up. I just wish the surge on pain wouldnt happen. (Its mostly in my hands where it occurs)

It works for my chronic facet syndrome. I have set backs at times but healing after prolotherapy is better. I still struggle with some sleep issues so I keep taking very low amounts 1.5 mg or 2 mg.

Hello. I'm currently taking about 2 grams of kratom a day to help with anxiety after being in recovery from heroin. I've been clean since August 2022. Will taking the ldn (2.5mg) while on kratom cause precipated withdrawal ? Thanks

I can't think of a reason why LDN would be contraindicated but I can definitely think of much better therapies than kratom for anxiety! Maybe seek some professional help? Good luck!

@@DrBrandyRoseLipscomb thanks for the response! I've read that naltrexone is an opiate agonist like suboxone. And like suboxone, if you take it while still having opiates in your system, it will trigger precipitated withdrawal. But at such a low dose (ldn) I wasn't sure. As for other ways to help with anxiety, I've tried mostly all forms a prescription medication without any luck. Trust me, I'm weaning my way of the kratom, it's not the long term solution. Hence the ldn. Thanks again!

@@kelseybass6482 has anyone (knowledgeable enough to interpret) checked your progesterone levels? Does not work to decrease immune function. Might actually boost your immune system. But, do your homework on NTX + immune system functioning.
