They will never fail because Layton is a professional dancer and the show knows it and he knows it which is why he's always smug as he knows he will win it its probably written in to his contract give me high scores and get me to the final otherwise I will throw a dramatic tantrum and walk away

They aren’t dancing to the music, they are dancing within the music. Which is some achievement.

So many comments on Strictly that Layton had previous dance training...... This is heart, soul and completely overwhelming. Dance training does not do this. This has to be my favourite Argentine and I have had a few in the past.

Hello if I ever have the opportunity to make friends with both Nikita and Layton then I will invite VIP fans to his events. 😊

This example of accepted diversity is what makes me very proud to be British (not a lot does these days). Two men dancing passionately and getting totally carried away with emotion. They can do what makes them happy and not have to worry about backlash. You'd never see this on Russian or Islamic TV. Well done and thank you BBC for not caring about what narrow minded people think! .

Also someone commented that Dancing in the Stars in the US would not allow this. British people can be quite quirky and edgy, and the show, despite the traditional latin/ballroom focus, gives space for difference in a way I am also proud of.

Sorry but whilst the original comment has good intentions, it doesn’t justify the Islamophobic comment in the reply about a ‘certain religion’ or the Islamophobic edge in the original comment. There are queer Muslims and LGBTQ+ people living in Arab countries. You can never paint people with the same brush, and doing that to an entire religion erases those identities and those people. Embracing diversity is about embracing the many different ways of being a human on this world ❤🌍

There was something about the depth of emotion in this dance and pouring out of Layton's eyes at the end that just moved me so deeply. Striking performance!

I didn't even realise I was holding my breath the whole way through until it ended 🔥🔥 This was my favourite routine of theirs so far and maybe of the whole show this year. Incredible 🔥

My favourite Argentine tango out of their dances. Loved it more than their couples choice. Mesmerising. So good.

I loved this so much. What I love about this partnership ist that Nikita makes Layton shine. But also how Layton makes Nikita shine. And wow you could see the emotions in Layton eyes. They gave everything

Layton is inspiring so many, and its amazing to see. If you don’t like someone being their authentic self, thats your problem, not his! Someone very close to me has been going through a difficult time lately, and watching Layton and Nikita has really brought them so much happiness. THAT is what Strictly is about. Just remember nobody is forcing you to watch him or vote for him, the same way there is no need to send horrible comments. It won’t get anyone anywhere positive. If you have nothing nice to say, DONT SAY ANYTHING. If you can be anything, be kind.

WOW!! THAT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR!! Layton's leg action is some of the best I've ever seen!! Also their mirroring was PERFECT and their acting was UNBELIEVABLE!! And I can't get over their chemistry!! That deserved the first 40 of the series, damn Craig!! 😒

I agree with all of the above....Layton and Nikita MUST walk away with the glitter Ball. Their precision is incredible. 😊😂

I'll be 79 on December 11 - and l see Layton will be 30 on the 13th - this is my early birthday present! I've never seen anything so sharp, yet fluid, hit every mark, yet be so flowing. Astounding, outstanding, beautiful. I cried with the joy it brought. In these cruel times, we need reminders of the other side of humanity. Thank you, Layton. Thank you, Nikita.

The acting at the end when the music stopped sent the performance into strictly folklore

That was an intense performance by Layton and Nikita. The footwork was mesmerising. I really want them to win Strictly so badly but I know the odds are stacked against them. I just want them to dance together forever 🫶🫶🫶

@@rafaelyaguaro2842 it makes absolutely no difference to ‘production’ who wins. All they’re interested in are viewers. Some shock boots, and some good dances, and getting the (hopefully) most popular 4 into the final is all they need. Why should it make any difference to them who wins? The judges vote in the final doesn’t count, and tbh most viewers who vote have already made up their minds who they’re going to vote for before the final starts.

I cannot believe Craig didn’t give them a 10. It was absolutely amazing!

I'm not one to usually leave comments on YT, I usually just watch the videos and stay silent, but I felt like I had to leave a comment on this one. I've been watching strictly since season 2 and this is genuienly one of the best dances I have seen in the history of the show. I can't even fully put my finger on why; a combination of skill, storytelling, atmosphere, chemistry, artistry. Like Motsi said, it will never again be done like this. 100% deserved 40. Layton and Nikita are one of the best partnerships to ever be on the show, and Layton is amazing and keeps on improving. Rooting for them to win. What an iconic moment.

Also, I've been working my way through the videos and comments, and I've noticed that every 10 minutes, the views on this dance go up by a THOUSAND. I mean if that doesn't just say it all. An iconic dance that will go down in Strictly history!

Layton is pure magic. He is insanely talented. I don't know if he can teach but I would love to see him dancing at SCD every season.

Gave that sensational AT performance a standing ovation in my living room! I was so moved and thrilled in equal measure. I want to see that get the 40 it deserves in the final!

Layton is so good he makes Nikita shine! We know it's a longshot that Layton will win due to the naysayers in the GBP getting the final say. But that doesn't matter, Layton wins every time he gets on the strictly dancefloor. What an ambassador for diversity, for the youth and actually for this country.

I think you're wrong. Elle is getting 1k likes and Layton is getting 3.6 K likes. Everyone else just around 500 likes. It's clear to me he's the GBP favourite. Even if everyone switches their vote to Elle, I still don't think that'll be enough. But Elle is getting better all the time - she's increasingly more 'professional' looking every week - I think it will be very close in the end.

A new level of Argentine tango has been danced right here -the most powerful and intense partnership and performance. Everything from the musical arrangement to the staging to the costumes and their energy is simply sublime. I'll never get tired of watching this ❤

That's not a real tango

I have been watching Strictly since it started in May 2004 and whilst every series has given us some outstanding dances I don’t think I have every seen such an absolutely amazing dance as this Argentine Tango. Nikita’s choreography is brilliant but however good the routine is in theory it also needs the celebrity to put in the hours to bring it to the next level - and boy did Layton do that. For me not only has this been the dance of the series (so far) but of the whole programme since 2004. Well done doesn’t seem enough.

This was so beautiful in its drama, narrative and artistry. I broke into floods of tears as it ended and the camera stayed on Layton.

Just wow. I’m mesmerised by this couple….that look Nikita gave Layton at the end of the dance was so intense, it gave me goosebumps!! 🥵 Week after week they absolutely smash it and this dance was THE dance of the series so far! Absolute travesty they didn’t get 40!

They get in professional Argentine Tango dancers to teach the choreography for this. Even so Nikita's choreography on all the dances has been fantastic.

The very rare moment in which song, dancers, and choreography all align. Doesn't happen very often!

Absolutely stunning, one of my favourite strictly dances ever. The fact Craig didn’t give this a 10 is a complete joke… He wishes he could dance like that. Layton and Nikita to win 🔥

WOW! This was definitely on some other level, they were dancing on the edge, completely in the moment and drew everybody in with them. The passion, drama, intensity, choreography, music, lighting and outfits came together perfectly. I feel like this is what we've REALLY been waiting for from Layton. A dance in which he showcases his skill by performing complex choreography from start to finish of the dance he's been assigned- no tricks or showboating (as amazing and brilliant as he is at them)- and pure emotion and storytelling from him. Just amazing. (I'm sure we're all dying to know why Craig gave a 9!!! What a travesty!)

What wonderful comments. Not just me, then. I have watched this routine over and over, and it seems to be past in seconds. Thee naysayers have no idea how special and how good, and how full of hope this is (yes, I have been slagged off here for adoring this routine, but hey, that's life; not my problem, but the other persons) I have been overwhelmed at how much Layton is learning and progressing, both as a dancer and as a person, and how brilliant this teaming with Nikita has been. To me, this is the height of his achievement. He has moved his core, and strengthened it. Changed his entire approach to dance and his place within it, and has matured so much as a talent and as a person. And if people cannot see and accept the achievement and the joy of this, they have a problem all of their own. I also think Layton deserves real credit for knowing he would be trolled and abused for his place on this show, and yet he has had the courage and the nerve for daring to do it anyway. All these complaints about him being a professional dancer; yes, he is. But he isn't the same now, and his learning curve has been as intense as anyone else's Comparitively, someone may be an English teacher, but that doesn't mean they can teach maths without total retraining. And this is exactly the same situation. Sadly, I don't think he will be allowed to win, Ellie Leach will, and she will have earnt it, but Layton will have won a different, more valuable and more especial victory that speaks to people, and with a reward greater than a glitter ball..

Professional or not, you will rarely see anything this beautiful and emotional. So appreciate it everyone! It's so worth it!

❤ Nikita. Can’t take my eyes off him whether he’s dancing or not. However, he is such a generous dance coach who makes sure his partner shines.

I adore those two and can never get enough of them. Such great dancers, with incredible chemistry between them. I don't think I'd been fully able to appreciate Nikita's skills until he got paired with Layton this season. They've had my support from week one and hopefully we'll see them reach the final.

The difference between the professional dancers and their celebrity partners is that the pros have trained THEIR WHOLE LIVES almost exclusively in ballroom/Latin dancing to become championship title holders (some holding multiple awards). Non of the celebs, even Layton, have this level of expertise.

I love how they were in character before the music started and for several seconds after it ended. This was a breakthrough dance for this pairing - it finally felt authentic and as though they’ve gelled. It took a while, but was worth it

The Argentine tango originally was performed by 2 men, this truly honours the spirit of the dance, and whatever your orientation, this was a superb interpretation by 2 superb artistes. 🎉

Argentin tango was invented by sailors …two men could dance and compete …like a battle off. Therefore this was absolutely amazing made and preformed and authentic ❤❤❤

Incredible! This song pairs perfectly with the Argentine tango, making it my all-time favorite dance. Witnessing the original gender perform adds a special touch, and the chemistry between Nikita & Latoya is simply amazing. A perfect 10 for my birthday, capturing the emotion despite a challenging week. Layton reclaimed the top spot where he truly belongs. 10/10 brilliance! 😢💯🥵👏🏾

Absolutely... Nikita to me felt like a completely different person, almost cold, arrogant....while in this 'breakup' Layton was distraught..... The story in the dance was woven through it absolutely seamlessly.

People need to start to realize that, in order to get this level of dancing and Iconic moments on Strictly, the celebs need to have some level of dance experience. Even if they get a bit of practice ahead of the start of the series (like I think they do), there's no way an inexperienced person can get on this level this quickly. Some of the dances they have to do are hard as F to master, let alone in a week's worth of rehearsal. I, for one, love when celebs come with a dance background, because another big thing people haven't gotten in 20 years of strictly, if the fact that ballroom dances are not easy and are another totally different thing than the standard dancing some celebs comes when doing the show.

Apparently, this was worth just one more point than Angela R's paso, according to Craig, (how utterly ridiculous!), and what he said on the Results show was hackneyed nonsense and an insult to Nikita's sense and awareness as a dancer and teacher - the words of a jealous man, if ever I heard them. If that paso was an 8, this was an 11, but I think 7 for the paso and 10 for this was the way to go, Craig! This dance was so exciting and innovative, I am hooked watching these two, this is the kind of passion and self-expression that draws one in. This is one of those Strictly dances that I will continue to watch for years to come, and I believe it will be influential.

I was just lost in the moment watching these two guys dancing tonight Nikita is a fabulous teacher and Layton just absorbs all the instructions Absolutely beautiful together ❤

Deserved a 40 but Craig robbed them. Best dance of the evening. 10/10

Yep, hard agree. Ellie fan here, but that 9 from Craig was ludicrous. This dance was a 40 by any standards. Craig is obviously holding on to his 10 paddle till Blackpool, but it looks ridiculous when that conceit is stopping him from awarding the proper marks for pre-Blackpool perfection like this.

Yes definitely worth 4 tens. I hope they ask Craig why he stopped at 9. The skill, timing and detail of this is mesmerising and I love how they kept in character, even beyond the finish. Just wow!

I have never taken to layton at all, not my favourite by a long shot but I would say that was the best dance of the series, not just the evening. I want Ellie to win but that deserved a 40 tonight. Craig gets on my nerves with his under scoring.

Score - *100/10* 😍😍😢😢 It was like the pro dance was kept until the end, Layton was near in tears and I think half the nation was!!! Epic performance and beyond, so so much detail that you appreciate so much on a second watch, his ochos and swivels were so tight and compact, when they were side by side it looked like Layton had been doing it for years NOT 5 DAYS! Argetine Tango is nothing like the dancing he has done before all the more than boring whining comes from jealous people. The representation and chemistry between him and Nikita is just fabulous, I really felt the love between them here tonight it was such a fabulous story, first Whitney, then Olivia and now LOREEN AHHHHHH!!!! Just incredible, I'm chucking Craig off his seat he's finished 😤 I think Layton is set to be the highest scoring dancer in strictly history I really do, MY WINNERS FOREVER 🏆 🥳🙌🏼

The Strictly producers usually keep the week’s best dance until the end of the episode. Happened week 1 with Nigel’s paso. Also movie week with Krishnan’s breakthrough Charleston to money money. Again Ellie and Vito’s Halloween salsa. Angela Rippon’s Argentine tango and of course Layton’s tonight. Just an observation, that they plan out running order and first/last performances most weeks

Absolutely my favourite dance of the series. The story, the strength, the song, the dancing. The was everything!

I have to rematch this at least twice a day.. it fills my heart with love and my eyes with tears.

The best Argentine Tango ever! Worth a 40! The best dance since the show started at that point! Some of the best footwork I have ever seen in the Argentine tango! 10 out of 10! Perfect! Some Amazing passion and drama! Incredible movements! It takes so much skill to give us that! Thank you for that OUTSTANDING Masterpiece!

Layton is an extraordinary dancer..this could win Anything..

Nikita and Layton make a great partnership, they dance so well together. The routine was brilliant and will go down in strictly history they should of got 40 Craig should of scored them a 10!!!!

Wow! Intense, dramatic, theatrical, passionate --- the routine ticks all the ticks for a great Argentine tango!

What a fantastic performance, and the amazing vocals from the live singer made it spine tingling. ❤

I've watched this so many times it's almost absurd. ICONIC!

Every time I watch this dance I get goosebumps and feel all the emotion. I just love Layton and Nikita. Every dance they do is absolutely amazing, but this particular dance was absolutely breath taking...phenomenal.

Loved this! Layton and nikita always bring something unique to their routine this one was flawless amazing choreo perfect to the music fully deserved a 10

That was full of Fiery Passion ❤️‍🔥 & Intense Emotion. So gorgeous to watch. I admit, have watched it back like 10 times already. The Footwork, the synchronicity of movement. Perfect and they danced so intense. Kudos to whoever arranged this Choreography. This was simply PERFECT! Also happy that Nikita’s first ever ArgTango on SCD was executed so well. Like he said “50/50 partnership. One could not do it without the other. For the life of me, Craig, what the blazes stopped you from giving this a 10! Huh, do I even WANT to know? Ridiculous. I actually stood up and stomped my foot while I creatively cursed. Now VOTE, people. You have 3 so vote for whom you like.

I think Nikita arranged the choreography, as in most weeks. This week they also had some helpful tips from Jack Whitehall (haha, not really).

I hope he does this for the final. It was so electric, and intense! Not as showy as his other dances, no arials, back handsprings or cartfulls but the technical skill on display is insane!

Our boys are WINNERS- all those dances were phenomenal, and to finish on that AT. Speechless

This is the Layton I have been hoping for, showing a new dimension. So compelling, reaching new heights. That end shot with his face, with the crowd behind applauding, is truly magical.

Nikita ..beautifull ...when dances with whoever ....he would make the ugly sisters feel beautiful ..... He has something in his ability to draw you in to his passion for dance .. wonderful young man .

I can’t stop watching. At least 40 times - this is moving and delicate yet so powerful and intense. I adore the music / choreography but just can’t move or take my eyes off them. I love how Nikita talks to his partner through this in what feels like part of the routine and moment.

and I thought it was just me... the back flip from the vampire dance alone left me breathless and, no doubt, Layton. stunning. We will never see dancing like this again.

Literally the best dance of the season

I’ve been watching Stricly from 2017 to now and this is the best Argentine Tango i have ever watched!!!! ❤❤❤❤ should of been a 40!!!!

BOOM! I love these two! Extraordinary unique performance! I keep watching it again and again. Layton doesn't know how good he is. What a shame Craig wasn't capable of recognising the exquisiteness of the moment... Well, I did :), the other judges did, and hopefully, the voters will, too.

unbelievable craig didn't give this a 10 - this dance was remarkable and layton delivered exactly what the judges have been asking of him, sticking to the fundamentals of the dance whilst still adding his own flair to it. i don't think it was too aggressive like craig said, i think the passion between them was essential for the story they were telling. such an incredible routine!
