You got it bro… im from Dallas, and have been badly addicted to pain killers and drinking for the better part of 4 years… and i lost my buisness because of it, along everything I worked a decade to have…. I am a father of 2 so finally said F’ it and left Dallas to work in North Dakota so i can do better for them… Im now about a week clean and i have zero plans to go back to Dallas any time soon besides to see my kids once a month or so… i feel great and im happy and im already gaining wieght and my lost intelligence back…. I didnt even DT that bad because i found some things that help with it and after a week i feel fine… i was basically homeless when i left home. Lost my house and was living in a hotel, and my truck broke down. If i went back now id be on the streets, so ill be up here until i get a nee truck and money to buy a house back home, and when i get back i will continue being sober… i dont think i will, i just subconsciously know i will. Best of luck.. AIC woke me up and helps me tremendously.

Many thanks for giving us a bit more Layne in our lives, this is best news I’ve heard in a long time. Words can’t really describe how much Layne meant to some of us out there. No matter how helplessly isolated one can become because of their problems, hearing a voice that can express the torment of a hopeless situation like his could somehow makes it all feel a lot more bearable.

This put a smile on my face. I really hope these are mostly unheard by the public. Some of the songs mentioned as releases are well known. I was expecting all new songs...but I'll take what I can get maaaaan :P That last clip of Layne sounded like he was happier. Before the music got beautifully darkened.

I heard that one snippet ("there's nothing you can do") and tears welled up. It's like getting a drink of cool water after a trek through an unforgiving desert. And _SEVEN_ songs (or 8)?!? Heck, that's an *EP!* Are y'all doing the other 3 songs as well, or is another production house doing those?

Man you guys are doing God's work here bless your souls. Laynes voice was like a shred of light after being trapped in a cave full of darkness and despair for years and he's the only one who was there during the peak of my issues and was there after I cleaned up my act. He was a beautiful soul that didn't "sugercoat" the truth and always told you what he thought. One of the best to ever do it and a Grunge God.

I’m getting chills just thinking about it. Miss that guy.

I will take any and all unreleased material from Layne. The man had one of the haunting voices in the history of music.

Jerry and Layne were great friends till the end and what "they" say is true that all the Layne material has been released and nothing more. 2. Jerry and Layne were not friends when he died and hadn't spoken in over two years. Layne was working on a book and solo album called "Self Portrait" along with collaborating with many local Seattle artists during his "reclusive" years. His contract with AiC had in a creative prison. Let's just say if you believe or post any proof of #2 you will eventually get shut down by you know who.

@@david_gamer262 I know of at least two times shortly after Layne's passing that friends/family close to him tried to dish out the real story of his last years and the minions a.k.a. Layne's former stalkers, big girls, pretty much got in with Nancy after his death and made sure nothing that Jerry or Nancy did not want getting public got deleted and people got doxxed and harassed in real life simply for sharing the truth. It sucks because they had pics and other cool things of Layne no one else had that they were posting plus more but got ran "off", this is why you don't really hear from any of the people who were around back then that knew the truth.

​@@SuckerFreeGearRobin Wright put a little studio record in Layne's house so I think it would be strange if Layne had recorded nothing during those years. But we know Layne hurted a lot because of how he was portayed by the press so I think they are very private because of it.

Hey Jesse and Dave, many moons ago, when I was a follower of U2, during their AB/Pop/Europa era (90s), a LOT of their music was remixed into some amazing stuff (usually along the club/techno side). This is just a huge wish on my part, but would you/could you do something similar with AIC's music? (I'm thinking specifically of Head Creeps, but there's so many others). I stumbled on this YT link just today, and thought that AIC's music would be great to "morph" into something similar: kzread.info/dash/bejne/YqF13M6Kp6y2gaw.html They have such a small catalog of work (with Layne, I mean) that anything "new" would be very welcome, I'm guessing. And more AIC is always better. 👍 Just a thought.

This music had me feeling like a surf board that had been bitten by tiger sharks and re-sold as a prop from a movie about a surf board that was bitten by orcas. Don't you?

@@oldskaterfromchula They released The Music Bank box set in 99 that had early demos from 1988 of Bleed the Freak and unreleased songs, I Can't Have You Blues, Whatcha Gonna Do, Social Parasite, Queen of the Rodeo and Killing Yourself. ALL great songs. The 2nd vocal part played in this video sounded like Layne from those songs or possibly earlier.

@@oldskaterfromchula Jerry did not like Layne working on outside projects kind of like Hetfield didn't like Newsted doing the same in Metallica. You have to remember by the time Layne died he hadn't spoke with Jerry in years and said they're no longer friends.

Things take time. Chill out. I'm sure he has to deal with Layne Staley's Estate that Nancy(his mom runs) who I've talked to a lot. Very nice women, she helped me through my addiction for many years.
