I would like to thank Puvanur Shri R.Viswanathan Sir a lot to have the Laya Talk with my guru Neyveli Shri B.Venkatesh Sir! I’ve came to know a lot of things through this interview about him. So many struggles he has faced in his life and he has never let us see any of those. We are truly blessed to learn from him. Dear Venkatesh Namaskaram Hope you are keeping fine. Though you had sent me the above video on 29th Dec, I was on a tour and couldn't watch the video. Today in the office during the free time, I was browsing KZread and found this video. I watched the entire video and I should say that I am so proud of you, first for your simplicity, humbleness and extraordinary talent on the Mridangam. In the interview when I heard your journey from the NLC days till what you are today, I was spell bound and tears rolled down my cheeks, looking at your humble beginning and where you stand today. Trotting around the Globe visiting 50 odd countries, performing around 800 + concerts, having 500 + students and they inturn teaching students on your Bani, adds volumes to your humble character as a human being and man of generosity. For all what you have achieved you said it in such a nice way, that all credit goes to your Parents, your sisters and Gurus. When i heard about your mother pledging her gold and feeding the music artist who use to come to your house, shows the greatness of your parents towards the love they had on the art and the music. I always tell people Sanjay concerts becomes a blockbuster hit only when Vardu and Venkatesh accompany him. *You are a Superstar in Mridangam as Sanjay is the Super Star Vocalist. My Sincere Prayers to Lord Samba Parameswara to Shower all the choicest blessings on you and keep you Happy, Smiling and Prosperous at all times. Pranams Kumar

மிக அழகான நேர்காணல். வைரம் கண்களுக்குத் தெரிகிறதே ஒழிய, அதை நிலக்கரியில் இருந்து பிரித்தவரோ, அதை நகையாய் உருவாக்கிய வரை தெரிவதில்லை. அதேபோலத்தான் பேட்டி கண்டு வித்வானையும் நான் அறிந்திருக்கவில்லை. மன்னிக்கவும் நெய்வேலி தந்த மின்சாரம் நீங்கள். நிலக்கரி தந்த மிகச் சிறந்த வைரம் நீங்கள். நேர்காணலின் துவக்கமே 28 மணி நேரம் உங்கள் கின்னஸ் சாதனையோடு துவங்கியது பிரமித்து விட்டோம். எத்தனை ஞானம் , குரலில் தெளிவு , எத்தனை மிருதங்கம் , எத்தனை மாணவர்கள், எத்தனை நாடுகள் சுற்றி இருக்கிறீர்கள். பாராட்ட வார்த்தைகளே போதாது. கர்மவீரர் காமராஜர் , அப்துல் கலாம் , நரேந்திர மோடி இவங்கெல்லாம் கல்யாணம் ஆகாத நபரா இருந்தது தான் இவ்வளவு சாதிக்க முடிஞ்சதுன்னு சிலர் பேசுவாங்க 😂😂 அவங்க சொன்ன உதாரணம் தப்பு மத்தபடி அவங்க லிஸ்டில் உங்களையும் சேர்க்கலாம். நீங்களே பக்கவாத்தியம் வாசிச்ச பாம்பே ஜெயஶ்ரீயோ , உங்க தலைவர் சஞ்சய் சுப்பிரமணியம் & உன்னிகிருஷ்ணன் இவங்க எல்லாம் கல்யாணம் பண்ணிக்கிட்டு சாதிக்கலையா என்ன? What an inspiring journey you've had. I'm so glad my daughter is learning from a such a remarkable and kind person. I'm not sure why I was crying when you mentioned about moving to sports quota job. You were picked by emperuman himself. Your life journey gives hope that one can succeed with hardwork, determination and consistency. You're right about Sri Lankans respect towards Art. I was fan of your talent before now as a person too. May emperuman continue to give you the strength to keep going. Please do laya ensemble shows. 2 hours of Gym everyday, 🫡🫡🫡

Dear Sirs The marvellous and excellent life journey of great Mirdanga master of Neyveli B venkatesh Ji was well brought out by Laya Talk series of PRV Iyer. Immense thanks to both the masters. We only Enjoy his accompaniment with great stalwarts like present century mahaguru Shri Sanjay Subramaniam Ji but we never knew much about the career path travelled by wonderful mirdangist shri NBV Ji till it appeared as a first in Laya talk series. From the interview, it is vividly understood that he made the mirdangam learning possible for any . I liked his approach of imparting this art in a manner to equip any to accompany singers in quickest possible time without complicating with too many korvais and kaarvais. NBV Ji's style of accompaniment is likeable by world audience because he follows the singer and violinist inch by inch respecting thalam, layam , naathm and sugam closely . That is his secret sauce and USP in mridangam accompaniment. Of all, he as a guru is down to earth without pomp and show and more than the required frills. Nandhi Devan resides in him. His kindness towards his needy disciple is commendable and is well brought out in the interview as third thalai aside from valanthalai and idamthalai. Sanjay Sabha trio is pearl of the century as one is guaranteed with blissful and brisk entertainment. NBV Ji's untiring efforts and untold contribution to the field of mirdangam will undoubtedly be recognised in the coming years more and more. NBV Ji was working earlier on the factory floor of NLC for its objectives but he is now working hard on the Carnatic music stage with same spirit, valor and power and humility. May God give him continued good health, abundance of wealth and awards for the benefit of the musical world and the continuity of art. Thanks for bringing this unique interview by Laya talk series.
