Aha, so we've established a 10 ton Aveling-Porter steam roller is the perfect thing for crushing one's drink cans to save space in the recycling bin. This is important consumer information, and a perfect excuse for those of that inclination to go out and buy one, despite the other half's protests...

In my defence, I had finished the edit before we hit 6k, but I couldn't get it uploaded in time. We have no idea what's going on. Thank you, glad you're enjoying the content. The Railway my Ruston went to isn't mine - it's a small society working to relay the industrial railway that used to link two factories in Leiston, but I do hope we can go back and visit once they have more track!

Not sure exactly what's going on, but I did discover LMM because one of the videos it showed up on my "recommendations" list, so possibly that's been happening to a lot of people. And probably KZread's "what to recommend" algorithm figures that's a good sign that it should be recommending LMM videos, and things sort of run away like a diesel with a stuck throttle or something....

Well done Lawrie, the channel is growing really quickly at the moment. Thoroughly well deserved too. Although I’m worried we’re just encouraging your obscure vehicle collecting!!! Also the other guys we often encounter down at the shed are just as entertaining as you are. Here’s to 10k 👍

@@lmm i grew up watching bugs bunny cartoons, and going to steam and gas shows with my grandfather, so to me, anytime there is a steamroller involved it's gonna be a good idea. to be honest, i'm not surprised you are growing quickly. you're a likable guy, you have excellent, unique toys, and your friends are just the right combination of obnoxious, and helpful.

Congratulations on hitting 5K subscribers! Good old Fred Dibnah had an Aveling and Porter steam roller called Betsy, named after his mother although it was originally called Alison after his first wife. The roller is now owned by his sons Jack and Roger, very happy to have met both of them last year at a steam rally event at Liverpool Albert Dock.

Man when I see the type of old stuff you restore or other people like you restore here on KZread it makes me very upset I was not allowed to keep this pickup truck my dad owned for the last 15 years. It was a 2004 4 door s10 and I could say a million words about it but in short it was very special to me. It needed lots and lots of work. Between 5-$7000. But I wanted to keep it cause it meant so much it'd been in the family so long. And the 4 door variety has become rare. But they sold it. And I have no way of re obtaining it and it very greatly upsets me

Only LMM could get me watching random items being crushed by a steam roller for 17 minutes 😳🤔

Well I've never seen them in the same place at the same time, so I'm beginning to suspect they're one and the same...

Should that roller have had weights in? It doesn't seem nearly as heavy as I would have expected - I can't imagine it being weighty enough to compress tarmac. Seems weird for it to roll on bushings too.
