    I could not stand this show back in the day, but my mind has changed a bit. The world we live in now is so insane that taking these trips back to my Grandma's world is strangely comforting.

    Back when life was simple!❤️🥰

    Uh… no it wasn’t. This was the era of Reagan’s trickle down economics, the advent of HIV/AIDS, and the very real threat of nuclear war between the US and Russia, a severe recession, the Falklands War… not exactly simple times at all.

  • @8jaime8

    @8jaime8

    Ай бұрын

    @pen64 It’s simple compared to today. We still have AIDS and a terrible economy. The gap between rich and poor has metastasised. LA and San Francisco have tent cities full of homeless people. The drug epidemic has grown exponentially. The borders mean nothing and the country is being overrun with illegal migrants who get put up in luxury hotels by taxpayers who can ill afford it.. Shoplifting is so extreme in some cities that shops have been forced to close, while the thieves walk free. The threat of war seems closer than ever, and now we’re facing both nuclear and biological weapons. Porn has proliferated to the point that even children are exposed to it. Children are being indoctrinated with all kinds of sickness and the government is trying to take away parents’ rights to protect them. Children are going on murder sprees, shooting up their schools. . Women in sports are forced to compete with men dressed as women. Of course these men are crushing women’s world records and making a joke women’s achievements. Men have even gotten into women’s prisons by claiming to be women. No prize for guessing what these men do to the women forced to be locked up with them. People are fed misinformation and propaganda directly via their phone, courtesy of hostile foreign powers. This has sped along the fracture and degeneration of society. Things are so broken that the captial was attacked by its own citizens. The time this video is from wasn’t perfect, but it was a far simpler, and far better time than the one we live in today.

    Those were the days of really great music, far beyond what the nonsense is that is aired today and attempts to be called "music". The harmonies and smooth sounds of the blended instruments just cannot be duplicated today. I am so proud that I grew up in a time when television was clean and the music was at it's best.

    I enjoy the show very much, and if the main digital signal 🚥🚦 of a PBS Station can't broadcast the show any more, than it should be broadcast on one of the side channels of the local PBS Station, such as HD 2, 3, 4, or HD 5, of a PBS Station, like in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on WQED HD 2, HD 3, HD 4, and or WQED HD 5!

    Haven't listened to Lawrence Well for many years. It sounds different. The musicians are less technical, more rushed, out of breath, more prepared, less relaxed. Even if they were all white (which they clearly aren’t), so what? You wouldn’t complain about an all-Black show, would you? Or an all Hispanic show? It’s only white people who you’d force out so others could take their place. That sounds extremely racist of you. White people have as much right to do their own thing as anyone else. Stop it with the hypocritical, racist, anti-white double standards.
