Mr Q Ceaz Some people fail to realize that Reggie White had more sacks strictly because he was a Defensive Lineman constantly going after the quarterback. Lawrence Taylor rushed the quarterback and dropped into coverage. LT #1 Reggie White #2

I grew up Blue. I remember watching LT as a kid and how electrifying he made everything. The guy made football exciting for NY fans from the standstill it had been leading up to him. I started to think of LT as the monster from the Alien movies. His speed, approach and aggressiveness were frightening. If you watch him, from snap he pursues at a constant shallow angle to the field as if he is about to make a tackle and plays that way to point of contact. At no point does he let up or become even remotely vertical. Tough as nails - he went into each and every play like he was going to own it. Both of my sons played primarily D in their pee wee and HS days, and it always exciting whenever they were lucky enough to pull "56" from the jersey pool.

I love the story about how intimidating he was that the opponents would look around for him while he wasnt even on the field on certain downs

There is a story about a quarterback (not sure who) that was looking for LT and couldn’t spot him so he called a time out only to find out that he was on the sideline. Dude was very intimidating.

LT is by far the greatest defensive player ever. He would be equally dominating today. The only LB I have seen get to Randall Cunningham at his peak. Amazing to watch

The original Beast Mode. The dude was a badass! Remember back in the day when defensive players were allowed to actually tackle the quarter back?? Those were the days.

There are a few players who I can say who had absolutely zero fear on the field. LT is at the top of that list. I'm a 49ers diehard fan.
