Lawn Renovation From Start to Finish - Priness77/Arden 15 - Bermuda - Allett Kensington 20H
Want a lawn that looks like a golf course? In this video I show you how to plant a very prestigious hybrid Bermuda lawn. We first started off by killing all the common Bermuda. We then use our Allet Kensington with the scarifier cartridge to remove all the dead grass and debris. Next we plant our Princess 77/Arden 15 hybrid Bermuda grass seed. This grass seed is more cold wether tolerant, greens up faster in the spring and goes dormant later in fall than any other Bermuda. Also, this Bermuda can be mowed at a height of 5 mm and still be green and health. We may see a golf green in our future. Stay tuned and don't forget to subscribe!!

Good lluck buddy, i just giot finished, 4 1/2 months on 2500 sq ft yard, arden 15. I tilled and composted, leveked, hard work. Heavy rain kn a sloppy backyard was a fight with erosion. But go at it and its all worth it. Arden up in 5 days and if all goes good, mowing in 3 weeks. I'll be watching. Im looking into those allett mowers right now.

Great job bro. Looking forward to the progress. I thought I heard a hint of English accent in there when you were talking about the Allett... 😂 Keep us posted on how it’s doing. PS, plz don’t fall down and start germinating. Lol

Good luck man! Looking forward to seeing the progress. Ever thought about digging a well for an irrigation system? Im thinking of doing one myself this Fall. Im in the Florida panhandle close to the coast. My neighbors tell me they never had to dig past 25ft.

Thanks! Yeah I've been thinking about it but haven't decided yet.
I use some stuff called Gordons Ornamec 170 Grass Herbicide 🚨BERMUDA KILLA🚨 and you can use it anywhere anytime you see that pesky Bermuda! And the AWESOME THING IS IF YOU HAVE A ALREADY GREAT LOOKING LAW BUT BERMUDA POPS UP IT WONT KILL YOUR SURROUNDING GRASS !👍🏻✅ it just KILLS THE BERMUDA !!! I absolutely LOVE it ! And it’s the BEST BERMUDA KILLA ON THE MARKET ! In my opinion of course 😁 give it a try ! And you can mix it with roundup to make what I call liquid DEATH! Lol that’s a whole other story..lol GOOD LUCK 🍀👍🏻
Good luck
I wish my yard looked as good as the one at the beginning of the video
Yard is lookin great man. I didn’t read all the comments but did you apply a top dressing after seeding?
Oh wow, so Ryegrass does not perform well under too much heat? I was thinking of putting ryegrass on my lawn. Glad I saw this video.

Thanks Koven, and thanks for watching man!
I just purchased some Blackjack Bermuda seed and I am about to attempt to do a full renovation; kill it all method. Any tips on top dressing ? I saw where you did sand/top/peat moss any another video. Also my next troublesome is a large slope from road to yard with having grass on top of the hill and going downward into the yard. Will the peat moss hold the water or will I be left with poor germination ?

As long as you water correctly it should be fine.
If the yard has a sand base (GEORGIA) can I aerate and over seed in the Spring or late Winter to have a GREEN lawn by Summer
@YardEnvy

Yes, in the spring👍
I’ve been looking into overseeding my tifway 419 with perennial rye but can’t make up my mind after seeing both good and bad. Seems to me like everyone struggles quite a bit to transition into spring back to Bermuda. Would you recommend overseeing? Or would you say it’s too much of a hassle?
@YardEnvy
3 жыл бұрын
I would definitely do it as long as you have a game plan for the transition. I did not last spring but this time I will. Golf courses do it. I'll be doing it again this year and I will post videos on how to transition successfully.

Does anyone know if I am switching from Tifway 2 Hybrid Bermuda (only a year old) to TifTuf Bermuda do I need to kill all of the roots of the Tifway when I remove the grass with a sod cutter or will removing the grass with a sod cutter 2inches down do the trick and I am safe to just place the TifTuf on top after I place some new soil after removal?
@YardEnvy
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, if you are switching you should water it and kill anything that comes up
My friend in the Dallas area mistakenly killed his entire lawn. I'm sending this video to him as a how to.

@@YardEnvy Ok thanks! That’s what I figured.
Have you ever done a soil test? Wonder if you are deficient in something??
@YardEnvy
3 жыл бұрын
I don't do soil test lol. It was the transition of the rye dying from the heat and the Bermuda coming in slow.
how long did you wait after putting the glyphosate before seeding?
@YardEnvy
3 жыл бұрын
About 3 weeks, sprayed a few times to make sure a killed everything
What part of Ms are you in? I live in south Ms. And I have centipede grass and want to change it to bermuda. Any suggestions or tips will be much appreciated.
@YardEnvy
2 жыл бұрын
I also live in the Hattiesburg area. Honestly I would cut the centipede down as low as you can. Dethatch( you can rent one for $40 a day at Taylor rental in Hattiesburg. Get all the dead debris out so you can see the dirt in between the grass. Overseed with Bermuda. Once the Bermuda comes up wait 90 days and spray your yard with quinclorac. It will kill the centipede but not the Bermuda. Dethatch to remove the dead centipede and your yard will be green through the whole transition. Or kill everything and start from dirt.
I know this Video is three years old. but I can’t help but think that little baby was walking all over that round up. I know you probably didn’t even think about it and not calling you a bad parent. Just a big ooops!
How long after you killed it did you wait to seed also what's the temperature?
@YardEnvy
3 жыл бұрын
I waited two weeks after the first spray. Sprayed it again and waited a week before I spread the seed. Temps are in the 90's
Maybe you addressed this in prior comments and I know this is an old video but I have so many questions....why the heck did you overseed with rye? You live in Mississippi. Which is in the south. The climate is not conducive to a cold season grass. Maybe it was just an experiment and I missed something. Also, why did you seed bermuda and not lay sod?
@YardEnvy
2 жыл бұрын
Lol I over seeded with Rye to have green grass during the winter. It's very very common in the south. I chose to seed because it only cost $650. If I had used sod it would cost waaaaaaaay more than that for hybrid sod.
How do I stop it from running?
What part of MS? I’m in North MS and working on a 6 acre rehab...

Hattiesburg area
Wet and patchy grass
I don't get why you would kill the Bermuda that did come in? I would have kept that area & just killed weeds.
handcuffed by overseeding winter grass, bring on the weeds, no pre emergent boys, just not worth it to mow in winter
