Thank you I just got one of these for my Husqvarna tractor and I noticed that my push lawn mower could use one too. Even though I am a 63 year old woman I am going to do it myself it looks so easy. Thank you for your Insight!

Very helpful video. Try lowering your deck to as low as it will go (probably have to do this on concrete or pavement). When you do this, it "traps" more water and is much more effective at removing the grass. Thanks for posting.

I've been wanting to do this for some time to my mower. It has a flat spot on the deck like yours. Pretty sure that's what it was made for. Thanks for posting. Big help.

Thanks for the video. Just about done refinishing my Swisher 54" three blade deck and needed a way to keep the muck from building up and rusting everything. Up north I've got more weeds than grasses so the trimmings are really sticky. I was amazed that you're deck looked so clean before, but after you're sprayed it Wow! Thanks

Tip the mower back! Push mowers are meant to be tipped back without spilling gas or moving oil to where it's not supposed to be. Usually indicated by putting the spark plug on the front of the engine so it can't get oil on it tilted any other direction to. Don't worry I just learned this on KZread today too

Not necessarily rule of thumb is never tip it towards the air filter side.

I have two or three lawn mowers that have clean outs on them and then I have a riding mower and a push mower that I need to install so thanks for the help really learn something

He needed to check that hose quick connect, it was leaking way too much water out on top of the deck. Plus he needed to put some paint or sealant on the drilled hole so rust don't get started there. Also if the under side of the deck is showing bare metal paint it with some fluid film the deck will last way longer.

I have about 2 or 3 hours that have those clean out but my riding lawn mower and I have another push mower that needs to have that install so thanks for the help I really really think it drink it really helped me thanks

Well done. Nice. I 'm always shocked when I get close to the Mowing Contractors with the ZTR's on the back of their trucks. All the ZTR's look as if they've been through hell. Loaded with Grass, filthy with dirt/mud/grease.

Drop the deck to the ground next time. You’ll be amazed with the results.

When tilting any small engine device (your mower) ALWAYS tilt it to the side opposite your air filter (carburetor) to avoid draining the gas and oil into your air filter.

I place a plactic Sandwich bag over the gas tank lid opening then reinstall the gas cap and tighten it up. Works for me and don't have any gas spill.

The metal hose coupling looks like it is for a pressure washer hose while the plastic coupling is for a Gardena hose coupler. Lowering the mow to the ground will improve the cleaning. Also if you don’t use the washing sprayer very often it will plug up with grass and dirt. To unclog the sprayer, remove it from the deck and soak or put it under running water and scrub it with a toothbrush.

Always tip the mower on it's side with the oil dipstick high. This will put the petrol or gas cap low & fuel will leak out as the cap has a small hole for air to enter. Seal the petrol cap by removing the cap and putting a scrap of plastic (eg old shopping bag) over the cap thread then tightening the cap back down. I still like your wash kit install but it makes it easy to scrape the underneath of the deck, remove & sharpen blades etc when you have to tip the mower over.

The fitting seems to leak pretty badly onto the top of the deck. Seems like there is an o-ring or washer missing. I have the same kit and the same results.

I use a 3 arm lawn sprinkler that rotates. don't even need to run the engine. Blasts all the gunk by itself

The added knob device didn't work on my push mower. I now leave the mower to cool 5 minutes,then put a concrete blob on the handle end. Thi makes the mower underside visible and I use a hose to clean that area

my mower came with a washer hookup...it does a lousy job...certain areas it just wouldnt clean...i flip it over hose it out and then wd40 the whole underside.

You got a link to that socket you used to twist the bolt on??

What size drill bit did you use? Is there a proper size bit where you don’t have to be customizing the drill hole?

Had a plastic one on my Craftsman mower that eventually cracked off after three times of use and what are you using your blade for are you cutting rocks time to change it too

That connector is a European standard for garden hoses (google 'gardena'), but it looks like yours is missing an o-ring. (the other standard is GEKA)

If that's a steel deck wouldn't paint or some sealant of some sort on the hole be a good idea to stop rust down the line?

That's what I was thinking. Moisture getting down in between that port and the deck would cause rust over time.

i have a honda with a polymer deck can you put a deck wash kit on it

A stainless Nyloc nut would of been a better option here then the free running nut they supply in the kit.

Put a piece of food film on your gas fill and put the cap on before you turn the mower on its side to prevent the gas from pouring out.

Make sure the nozzle is facing the opposite side of the deck before tightening down the fitting. Otherwise the water spray will not be as effective, esp if it's facing outward...

I just tried this on my 42 inch tractor. It cleans rigth around the the water port, but that's it. I even lowered the deck. Not impressed with it at all. Seemed like a waste of time to me. I think I used the exact same kit. Got it off of Amazon for a couple of bucks.

My Cub Cadet, came w/ 1 also, factory. I'm considering, an 'after market' model, to help w/ (your) same issue. Who knows.. I also bought a "Y" hose connection / connector for my garden hose. IT came w/ quick connect adapters.. metal (mostly brass 'cept ball bearings). I'm gonna 1. LOWER the deck (and wheels to do so by 'raising' them) to my concrete. 2. Install 2nd hose adapter kit 3. IF, results are NOT satisfactory, 3. I'm going to buy a couple, oscillating pressure washing nozzles., drill out and manufacture a housing to hold them w/ these SAME quick disconnects.. and I'll drive my mower onto a platform or even my 'expanded metal' mower trailer, and I'll EVENTUALLY insure THIS GETS DONE.. to save about $400 for a 'new' mower deck/ blades/ spindles. By the way, I'll NEVER EVER install the 'discharge' cover I got w/ my 'mulching kit', as I believe it's NOT required/ needed and it not only traps the clippings, but dirt, rocks which 'sandblast' or 'beat' the underside of my mower deck, reducing it's life span. My opinion. Good video. Thanks!

Get a honda with a Lexan Deck no rust ever to worry about.. and deck is guaranteed forever...

GET 2 WASHERS- BOLT THE OVERSIZED HEXAGON UP? THEN DRILL THE RIGHR SIZED HOLE: AND USE A LITTLE SILICON ( 10 YR ) SEALANT- TOP END BOTTOM OF THAT CORRECT SIZE HOLE! You'll be surprised how we'll it will work ( remember : rotate the head until you have the best coverage) Get that mower as low as it will go: in the grass/ dirt or on a piece of 3/4 ply ( as I did ) to keep a tornado under the deck. Except for a few crannies- that will have been softened the first Tim and need manual scrapping. Choose VEGATABLE OIL or WD 40 and coat: the CLEAN under side and next time you'll clean your machine, water and fertilizer your grass or get a :GATOR 3 way blade for better lift & mulching. All that water on the deck hitting the thinner & hotter engine walls won't help either? My " Craftsman is 21 yrs old and when I bring it in for major winter tune& MAINTANANCE: they all say the same thing-- how did you keep it running this long & we have a helluva time finding the parts anywhere: ( Sears is dying from the CHINA DISEASE! I just say: Google the land speed record under 600cc & Bert ( Robert) Monroe from Australia, he won it in 1967 with a 1920 Indian and just broke it again 36 years AFTER HIS DEATH , his grandson found an errors in the original math & double check adding another 2 mph to the record the stand today! Or Rent/ buy the film :" World's fastest Indian" ( His other bike did the 1/4 mile @134mph in 12.2 seconds , look that up? If I find the Museum pictures from 2015 I'll try and post them . OPPS, Waterproof & poly the plywood or get a concrete square ( I've got both, the square is closest to the garage and also serves and a concrete base for my smokers & grills?) If that's not fast enough for you: just mount two ports!😉

A wash kit came installed on the deck of my Husq riding mower but it just doesn't do a good job at all! My deck has 3 blades on it and it just appears the water doesn't get to the entire deck, so I just quit using it all together.

Why was it leaking so much. Is it the plastic hose adapter or the metal piece.

There should be a rubber o-ring inside the hose end connector. Mine has one and it doesn't leak.

The video makes it look like its leaking but thats because the water was flowing out the flush holes in the bottom (doing what its supposed to do)

Turn it on the side where the carb is not installed.

I wouldnt dare do this on my Honda. I just lift the bag lid and stick my powershot wand that can be attached to any garden hose and keeping the tip of the wand pointed on the decks inner wall and it cleans it better than having that attachment like on my friends husquvarna and his is even factory installed plus I dont get water everywhere on the top deck, just like you I like to keep my mower clean after a mow but I use a leaf blower on the top deck to blow grass clippings. Im not too fond of seeing my engine block get wet.Thanks for sharing though

Yep, that particular kit is rubbish! It should have an o-ring on it.

Lower it all the way down. More better results. Haha more better.

Forget about that nut and go buy a nylon lock nut
