In answer: The Aus side must have played many matches to reach this stage. There was talk of the schedule being very tiring .. and we'd be more used to the heavier green from a tiredness perspective as well as the green speed .. Further it had/was raining and that affects our greens as we know it .. and differently to the hard, different grasses of the Aussie greens. I too wondered at their seeming inability to adjust - but I'm sure, in the past, folks have thought the same of my game when I lost. Since these days the Aussie sides are super fit .. even more coached and trained (mantally) something in which we seem to have slipped behind. There game is growing ... ours is dying ... FAST .. Greens are disappearing, indoor centres are closing ... :-( .. We have not moved on .. in fact we have moved backwards in many respects .. I have played for coming up 40yrs .. and the quantity nor the quality is there any longer ... Oh! it might be at the National (the usual top 3% that we usually refer to as 'normality' or use for 'narrative justification') ..but there used to be great bowlers all over.

Wow, Australia was awful, while the English girls were fabulous! I am a Scot, but love to see any team beating those loud mouthed Australian! Well done girls!

Watching this game was cringeworthy. The Aussies obviously earnt the right to be playing for gold, but their bowling skills had definitely gone out the door for this game.
