I'm a big fan of how you spell out everything for us viewers and explain how and why you might do something a particular way. Thank you so much for taking the time to make your videos and share your hobbies/lifestyle with the world. I've learned a lot from your videos and podcast! By the way, your taste in music is fantastic!
We have a hawk that sits on our pool umbrella. Worms, and the occasional squirrel. We feed the birds with sunflower seeds so we get lots of squirrels around the ground picking up after the many birds.
I love to see project lawns on youtube. Seeing the Before & Afters.
Man life is beautiful and amazing God is good
I use a 90 bent nail puller/pry bar. when you get a smaller neighbor up you can often slide the pray bar under and pull directly up.
Putting that work in!
I think maybe tomorrow I might get out and enjoy the mow.
We get that rain in North Fla also. I set the paver base, but instead of leveling sand I use sand mix mortar mix. This doesn't make it like slab cement, but it does help avoid washout even when on a bit of grade. And, being sand mix, it packs level quite nicely. It doesn't hold onto the stones like the cement on the borders stones (it does in spots, but it scrapes off quite easily.) I suppose if I ran across that problem I would simply put some releasing agent under it or something. I wet the paver base, or before I put the sand mix in. That with the natural moisture in the Big Bend soil is enough to creep up and get the sand mix wet. I have some of this to do on a paver path. I'm with you. I have put that off over a year. I hate repairing it. Hurricane Michael did a number on my yard, undermining a retaining wall, even. And some of my slope slid off. It would take me a couple of seasons to level the repairs, but I'm moving and downsizing. I have the fun of leveling a whole new yard and getting it going. Going to see how Citra Blue does with N-EXT products
That hawk is badass!
That playlist is superb and so the educational content. You make me smile over and over! Thank you for all the hard work you do for us in the community Allyn hence, my support to all your quality products
What a beautiful place you have, Allyn. I can tell you're somewhat of a perfectionist and the results of that shows. I'm trying to get the lawn of our new home in shape. It was sodded last fall. Your videos have been so very helpful. I watch some of them a couple, two, tree times. Just threw down some Milorganite after I did a little application of Ironite because I had some kind of chloritic looking yellow grass. It's darkening up now to a nicer, deeper green. I'm considering adding some pelletized gypsum because we are sitting on some really heavy clay subsoil. I'm thinking that might also help the grass roots get down deeper for moisture and nutrients. I'm having a great time doing the things you're teaching and my lawn is looking better every day. I'm planning on scattering some cedar mulch around the yard in a couple of days because I just read that it's a great, natural deterrent for fleas, not to mention roaches, ants, and carpet beetles. Keep up the great work and I'll be watching. (My latest video - EGO review - shows the yellowish stripes in the yard from a week and a half ago.)
You really should put out T-Shirts that have "throw'er down" on them.. of course have a picture of grass seed on the shirts..(for the snowflakes )... 11 year old daughter was making oatmeal cookies yesterday and I walked by and took an additional handful of chocolate chips and yelled throw'er down! as I aimed at the oversized bowl.... Obviously all 3 kids took their turns as well! You are a hit here in Long Island!
They have suction cups for those pavers to help grab singles
Thanks for all you do, with all this crap circulating and bad weather, and can’t get outside these videos you do is my “OUT” and my sanctuary

Came here from cleetus keep it up!
Today was the first time I threw err down with milo. Lol. I have an acre of kentucky bluegrass I just overseeded.
Stamped and stained concrete is a more permanent option for the brick area around your pool. That’s what we did to our sidewalk and it’s beautiful
Can't thank you enough for getting me away from all the crap for 29 minutes and 55 seconds! Thanks for all your positivity!
Don't worry baby!!!!

The Lawn Care Nut btw keep the playlists coming. I was jamming out to it today just to keep my thoughts focused on a better time when we make it past this.
"The smaller the project, the more times I have to run to ACE" - So funny and so true! Awesome, thanks for sharing all the projects! Great ideas and looking forward to see how they turn out.
That was the perfect video for the times. Thanks, Allyn. I needed this.
Allyn my dude! This is great and all true LCN’s crave the content you are currently putting out! Thank You!!!! Last Spring I was was leveling bricks in my patio and hit the tip of my finger really hard! I still don’t have all of the feeling back in my finger. Lol Be safe and Enjoy the Mow!!
I know that feeling of dreading some project that you just don't want to do. Once you actually start it's not so bad. Your house and gardens are looking great.
One of the most relaxing channels to watch. The music, the little projects getting done and lots of interesting info. Definitely my go to channel when I need to just relax and feel better. Great work Allyn.
The paiver issue around your pool may also be due to a pool leak.
My lawn is starting too, slowly but surely, greening. I'm starting to get excited for the spring green. Gives me something to look forward to.
loved that scene with the hawk at the end.
I went out today and started my spring cleanup and got my first mow of the season in. while mowing I noticed that my back yard was thick and lush while my front and sides was thin and clover and other weeds was starting to come in. So I was wondering if its to early to start spraying for weeds or should I wait for the dandelions to come? I did pick up some Bayer advance while I was picking up my Pre-Emergent to put down next month. I'm doing the Menards lawn care plan this year and the first step was on sale for $8 a bag instead of $16 I was so stoked to see that!
Will I use this on my wax leave hedges?
OMG that is so cool. Big fan of Cleetus,cars and his new track. Congrats I will be looking out for ya there.

it's going to be great seeing all the green surrounded by bald eagles!
It was 78 degrees today, tomorrow is gonna be 48. Grass was brown on top green underneath mowed it at 3.5” and now it’s double dark green with them stripes and greenest and darkest lawn in the neighborhood. Total domination. Tall fescue by the way.
Do you have suggestions for getting rid of moss? I have alot in my front yard along with large bald spots!
You packed a punch in this video. I enjoyed very much. The child are off school so no much yard work but every little thing is going to be alright

hoorah bro! enjoy the mow!
Sometimes I struggle with finding the diameter of the circumference myself. Anyway, lots going on in this one! Some really cool projects happening in the community.
LCN, in the nort (North) we still have snow and frozen ground, is there any reason one shouldn’t take a frozen soil sample?
Be sure that Garret sees your paver skills, so you can fix that ghastly infield paver section at the Freedom Factory. I'd also recommend on the repair to use polymeric sand instead of the paver sand. That's what actually locks the pavers in place when you wet them, otherwise it's just going to wash away again.
Whatch your step folks. TLCN is dropping some knowledge!
Hey Big Al.......thanks for the vid. Really need to keep my mind off current events happening.

yep yep! blue skies and sunshine my friend!
Great video Allyn I really enjoyed that, can you tell me the reason for that headscarf / mask thing (sorry don't know it's proper name) you wear? is it for protection from the sun or mosquitos
So I threw down the Carbon X on my 15k sq ft. What the heck is in that stuff? It turned my lawn DARK GREEN. Super cool. It also has a big nitrogen hit it's growing like crazy. Sweet fertilizer so far.
About the pavers...If you get concrete in florida the sand will shift non stop due to same water and it cracks. You can have the pavers reset, but concrete sucks around pools especially.
Do you have a video for controlling/getting rid of nibmlewill?
Ha, even the hawk knows that the LCN has the best soil on the block. Love your content
Thanks for the nature lesson. I didn't know hawks do that.
Can you use imidacloprid the same way you did with the Safari? It's pretty cheap
@Thelawncarenut

Yes you sure can but I don't think it is as effective on scale. Probably good on mealy big but not all scale.
I have a question, hoping you can answer. I don't have this now, because my lawn is still coming out of dormancy. My KBG last year had the DARK blue spots. It started in one section, and then the spots spread through the lawn. I would just have these patches of dark blue spot in different sections of my lawn. I didn't lay any iron down on my lawn last year, so I was wondering if you knew what that might be?
Great video bro!! I laughed out loud multiple times. It’s not a DIY project unless you make 5 trips to the store is 100% accurate.😂 I digging the music throughout also. Thanks Allyn.
What type of grass you have? Maybe someone knows?
Nice job on the pavers! Glad they use concrete here in dallas seems like that will be a neverending job
You helped me through another day of weird stress, and man I just want to get back to normal.Thanks for what you do, you inspire me.

Thanks for the video bud.
Great vid Allyn...super interesting in how they cut the st Augustin and leave strips for it to grow back
Great vid LCN. Real down to earth.

Great video, loved the music beat. Little cool in NJ today but getting out there. Picked a new ortho sprayer up today to lay down some N-Ext this week.
Safari is one of the best insecticides, but getting a bad rap since it’s a Neonicontinoid (the whole honeybee issue). However, use as a spray to conserve cost, and spray the trunk of the trees. Safari is translaminar, meaning the adjuvant it’s made with will allow it to get into the xylem quicker. Just make sure to do later in the evening than early in the morning, honeybees and all!
@Thelawncarenut

I agree but palms are more like a grass, no up and down flow like that - hence the root ball drench and much safer for bees.
@keithb2024
4 жыл бұрын
The Lawn Care Nut Agreed. However we tried on Fishtail palms here in Ohio (notorious for Mealy) and through our testing, sprays were more effective than drench. Another good one is MilStop. Even though it’s a fungicide, in testing the inert ingredients were found to kill mealy bugs as a spray. It’s just not labeled as such
Another good video. Can’t wait to be able to get out there and enjoy the mow.
I have the same hawk. I am waiting for his to start eating the birds that come to eat at my bird feeder.

I did my yard work since I had to go home early. Grass was 5” tall.
LCN, there’s a product made in Wisconsin called Moorganite. It seems to be a copy of Milorganite. Kinda funny. Can you do a video comparing the 2?
Can you talk about why milorganite molds on my lawn after it’s been watered in for a few days?
@Thelawncarenut
4 жыл бұрын
it's pushing mycelium which is a sign it's working. It really gets the soil excited and that is what we want.
Also question would the safari work on the spotted lantern fly? We have a horrible infestation up here In PA. They came over from China on a shipment of landscaping rocks someone ordered and no one can get rid of them it’s like gum stuck on your shoe
