Read about Cariol Horne, a good cop with 19 years on the job. She was fired for interfering with another cop who was choking a handcuffed suspect. The officer was later sent to prison for civil rights violations. Cariol was 1 year from qualifying for her pension. She had a good history, good performance evaluations but her termination was upheld. Btw- the story was that she "jumped on the back of the officer in an attempt to stop him choking the suspect" . But under deposition the officer said she didn't jump on his back. She's African American, he is white. Considering the power of police unions, I find it highly suspicious that her termination was upheld. More likely that corruption had something to do with it.

The first season was in 1990-1991. Watch some of the episodes and you can see how ahead of its time it was. In fact it was so raw and gritty that ratings were low for the first few years. Once the show took off the episodes were tighter and not as raw but still "Must see Television". I see watched SVU for a few seasons but to me the original was just that and nothing could top it "These are their Stories"..,cue chime.

7:00 Why is the defense council not making a hearsay objection? That is a witness recounting what someone else claimed happened. Telling him to throw the lineup, that's not hearsay as it doesn't matter if he's lying he still told him to do it, but he could have been lying about saying he took the crack. It's an odd thing to lie about but it may have been a joke, he may have been mistaken and picked up a packet that didn't contain any drugs.
